The rhythms and influences are said to have arrived with the sailors from West Africa in the 1960s and 70s. We will get to know in each episode its specificities and the relevance of this scene.

Liz, aka Outtatime (she/they) is a Brooklyn-based DJ from Toronto. Weaving through diverse styles of underground music, you're almost sure to unearth something new during her sets. Expect percussive rhythms and experimental dance that cut through the static of mundanity. 

theoretic (they/she) is Jersey raised, Brooklyn trained. As a DJ, producer, educator, etc etc, they’ve been entrenched in the beating heart of Brooklyn’s underground music scene. Their sonic craft spans a fusion of House, Techno, Disco, Garage, & Soul music that gave way for all these pivotal elements in the evolution of Black club music. Their style is a timeless & one that compels even the most restrained feet to move.
