Next up in our Origins Tapes series is one of London's brightest stars: DJ and Borne Fruits aficionado Amaliah is one of the scenes brightest talents and someone whose star is certainly on the rise.

With electric sets of classic & freshly cut disco and house to ferocious rave and electro, it's crystal clear to us that Amaliah's connection to the music runs deep. 

Borne Fruits is a London Based party collective which Amaliah runs and DJ’s for across a number of stations: Netil, Threads, and a monthly residency on Balamii: with her most recent radio show picking up editors Top Pick for April with what is a joyous 2 hours featuring selector Sally C. Amaliahs mixes are good for the mind and soul which is something that has transcended into the events that Borne Fruits host, which are small scale events with the feel-good energies of a house-party. 

Amaliah’s one of the most exciting DJs around.. Not just a DJ to watch for 2021 but someone we believe will become an incredibly important part of the fabric of London's electronic scene and we are honored to have her mix for us on Origins Tapes #17.

Kids’ Table aka Paddy Murphy (@dubious-music) spent his early rave days consuming every genre that the Glasgow party scene had to offer before moving to Oxford, where most weekends were spent record shopping and raving in South London. Since an early trip to Chicago and experiencing unabashed freedom of US dancefloors, he later moved to the Midwest city to harangue record shop staff and DJs alike for all the tips and IDs they have. 

This mix is collection of the electronic genres and rhythms, both new and old, that keep him infinitely fascinated by music from his diverse roots.

Teakup brings the wafters. 

Teakup’s ‘Lose My Mind’ was on repeat for most of last year. After hearing it in Doc Sleep’s Truancy mix, I was instantly hooked. It became a sort of comfort track for me during the first wave of the lockdown, weird as that might sound as it’s very much a dancefloor record, destined for slinky clubs but I think that was exactly why it gave me great comfort. It was a mood lifter, reminding me of fond memories and got me dancing again, whether that was my bedroom, living room or just in my chair. 

And now the mighty returns and we’re super excited to have him on board for our series, showcasing his signature wonky and trippy style. The Ohio-based producer released ‘Sips Tea’ EP on HOMAGE last week, packed with six off-kilter house tracks and has previously landed on Titonton Duvante’s Residual Recordings and Tony Fairchild’s is / was label.
