Morah - Intergalactic Fm Festival 2021

The centennial podcast of this series is brought to us by Morah. At some point in his career, the dark prince of Athens and resident of the Phormix label and event series achieved a unique and iconic status with his unconventional take on gritty electronic music that transcends genres. The first time we experienced this in the flesh was in the old Griessmuehle location on the Sonnenallee in 2019 and were blown away.

Whether it was his debut release on Helena Hauff's label, or the many life-changing performances over the years that are well-documented, his body of work speaks for itself as he graces labels such as Berceuse Heroique, Vanila, Brokntoys, Lux Rec, and most recently on Body Musick as well as a self-released album called Zesta. He's captained the Phormix event series as a resident and is a core part of the Athens crew whose label boasts some of the most exciting releases coming out. He's added another time-lasting performance to his list during the most recent DT Camp two weeks ago. It should be no surprise that we invited him as a special guest for our ADE event together with Pinkman Records on October 19th and can't wait 

These are trying times for all with many significant global events taking place almost daily. With this as the backdrop, we hope this series has brought some enjoyment. Thank you very much to the artists that have contributed to the series over the last two years and to the listeners for tuning in every week. We look forward to seeing all of you on the dance floor. Marienus is a Rotterdam-based, Utrecht-originated dj, member of industrial posse Public Sex Regime and part of the Operator Radio team as well as a host of No Soap Radio, a monthly show often inviting other artists residing in the darker corners of electronic music.

Getting into techno during his teenage years and quickly developing a passion for electronic music, his interest grew towards adjacent styles and other genres as the internet allowed him to delve into anything. Using dj sets and radio as an outlet of this seemingly endless discovery, he tries to share his enthousiasm for genres like experimental, industrial, ebm, noise, electro, wave and hip-hop among others, but doesn't let genre be a boundary. This results in often suprising, eclectic mixes.

Mick Wills started playing his beloved DJ sets in the second half of the dazzling 80’s. In the early 90’s DJ Hell took note of his talent and got him aboard as a resident of the legendary early International Deejay Gigolo gigs.

As the selector of the whole era of dance music his sets might be better described as master classes. His exploding cocktails of wave, dark house and techno turned loads of parties in to epic memories.

The man in subject built up his reputation fast and consequent throughout the world and also gave proof of being a dedicated producer and an in-demand remixer for labels such as International Deejay Gigolo, MinimalRome, Pinkman, Tabernacle & Rush Hour.

Mick is a freak and an avid record collector who plays like every night is his last. Again and again and again.
