Mexican DJ and producer Paulina Rodriguez aka Paurro naturally fell into the embrace of house, UK garage, breakbeat, bass, and techno music soon after she graduated from college.

Paurro found a new home in the dance community which gave her a platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and to elevate other artists’ work, with a big focus on those from her home country.

With an iconic essence grounded in house music, Paulina draws a fine line between her organic and energetic sounds, providing happy and unforgettable sets that leave a mark on the soul. Ranging from deep and minimal to uplifting and often grazing 90s house, her true aim is to provoke a feeling of true freedom through song and dance.

After a few releases including her remarkable remix of Nuestra Forma by DJs Pareja and Lupe, she has just made her first appearance on Cómeme, considered to be Latin America’s essential dance label. Her first EP Galavisión is composed of five dirty floor-fillers, filled with lush psychedelia.

Her second EP Onna-Bugeisha which was released in the label Sisters Of Sound is a reflection to the unsettling femicide rate in Mexico which has been causing political stir in the country, resulting in a beautifully eclectic package of five solid, interesting and unique bodies of work.

Pau is currently the label manager of Cómeme and  has a residency at Yu Yu and Funk Club in Mexico City which has hosted artists such as Ariel Zetina, Tama Sumo, Lakuti, James Bangura, and Elle Dee.

This mix has a calmed vibe while still being dancy, it starts with more chilled tracks with lots of texture and starts building strength with a dubby aura and then going to more housy beats and breaks. It ends with a total classic Days Go by from Dirty Vegas .. a track that i'm playing a lot lately.

The initiative aims to help build relationships between local black DJs, specifically queer / femme / bipoc and house/techno promoters who are largely not of these communities. We also call on support from these lesser marginalized bodies in conscripting venues and fiscal support for parties thrown by the aforementioned groups.

The second chapter of Mood Waves’ Digital Moods series finds the label crew and close affiliates navigating the smoother side of their sonic spectrum - though “smooth” here comes with the subtext of late-night mischief. Five tracks, five angles, yet a shared thread: music designed for the after-hours mind, whether that’s a living room deep dive or the final stretch of a club marathon. Among the contributions sits a slice of nocturnal hypnosis from one of the label’s own - DJ Tjizza - who uses Astrodome to remind us that sometimes the straightest path to transcendence is the one without any scenic detours.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza strips things to their essentials: an Acid line with purpose, a rhythm that doesn’t waver, and a partly spoken vocal that lands like a coded message from another frequency. The groove is unrelenting, the atmosphere shaded in darker hues, and there’s no sense of playful meandering - Tjizza has you locked in from the first bar and keeps you there, suspended in a bubble where time bends to the beat. It’s a track that thrives in the later hours, when the crowd is less concerned with build-ups and breakdowns, and more attuned to the hypnotic momentum of a well-aimed groove.
