The Lower Class - The Sound in the Soul

The Lower Class team up with blogs Oh So Fresh and Apple Juice Break to release their much anticipated street album Wingfield. Since their last project, Flight of Ideas, The Lower Class has slowly garnered viral recognition for their patented sound which can aptly be described as a contemporary take on indie sound. Wingfield brings back producer imaGenius’ eclectic sound mixed with a new found focus, emphasizing on jazz and soul samples. Incorporating themes from Tennessee Williams’ play The Glass Menagerie, the Lower Class give their insight on memory, nostalgia, escapism, dynamics of relationships and abandonment. It's this unabashed description of society's most taboo themes that makes the Lower Class more than just another group of musicians, they push musical boundaries. With the group’s first feature, singer Louis Alvin, they bring in a new vocal dynamic while keeping it limited to showcase each rappers lyrical potential.

The Texas hip-hip trio, The Lower Class, team up with hip hop blogs Apple Juice Break and Oh So Fresh! to answer the requests of fans worldwide with a deluxe edition of their buzz worthy second album Wingfield. Wingfield: Deluxe Edition is comprised of a fully remastered version of the original tape that brought them to the forefront of Texas Independent hip-hop across the blogging community, an alternative cover designed by the groups own Kartune, and three bonus tracks to show there is no slowing down their drive. The collective branch out with special features from Austin native Curbside Jones and budding guitar duo Sun and Moon. These collaborations show how the group can adapt while still relying on their golden age feel. By playing shows for SXSW 2013, being Vimeo staff picked for their video for “Extraneous”, and having their single “89” catch spins in retail stores across the nation; The Lower Class have begun their fast path to great things in the year and a half they’ve existed. While the trio gear up for their next project, they aim to keep their momentum going and their name on your watch list.
