Black Light Disco returns to the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with wind turbines set to ‘Full On’ to enter our disco slipstream. 

Starting things off for this week’s show is our host and BLD resident, Goz - fresh from a gruelling transatlantic trip to fix the phase emitters at the top of BLD Towers. Expect some corkers to be pulled out of his rucksack of grooves! 

Our guest this week is Italian DJ, producer / remixer - the one and only Mauro Vecchi! 

Mauro has been self-confessed rhythm addict since the 1990s, and preaches the word of funk, disco, soulful house and anything with a groovy feeling and positive vibe. His sets spin from downtempo grooves up to quality disco/house, from vinyl to digital it makes no difference to him; the most important thing is good music! Mauro's passion for music shines through in everything he does. Always active in programming for clubs and events in his area and beyond, Mauro’s music can be heard on monthly shows including Uptown Disco Session in U-FM Radio (Rome), The Word Is Groove -  Radio RapTZ (Paris) and in his very popular Mixcloud channel.

Mauro also started his own Bandcamp page where you can find plenty of tasty edits and remixes, but above all he publishes first official tracks on And Friends Records and place some edits in prestigious collections like Discoholics Anonymous and Yacht Disco Edits / Too Slow To Disco.
A regular artist appearing on the excellent ‘And Friends’ VA series, Discoholics Anonymous Recordings and the prestigious Too Slow To Disco Series, Mauro is fully immersed in all things groovy and we are so delighted to have him on for his BLD debut. You’re gonna love it!!

Our next guest is Italian artist Mauro Vecchi, hailing from central Italy, Mauro is heavily involved in the underground disco & disco edits scene in every aspect - firstly as a DJ & Producer, furthermore as an event curator for his party concept, but also the host of the fantastic ‘The Word Is Groove’ show on Parisian Radio RapTZ & the much loved ‘Uptown Disco Sessions’ - until recently, the show was aired monthly on Rome’s UFM Radio station. Expect an announcement of a new home for the show very soon.

A dedicated vinyl digger for over a staggering three decades, for his sets, he selects rare cuts on digital & vinyl, which can span from downtempo groove, boogie to all shades of Disco & House music.

Discoholic Ken - PuzzleProjectsMusic Guest Mix Vol.124

This week's special guests are Brothers in Arts, a duo from Lyon in France who have a real passion for music, and who embrace the musical culture of Disco, Funk, Soul and Hip-Hop. 

They have been producing outstanding tracks for over four years now, including releases on major labels such as Spa in Disco, CRMS and Tropical Disco. One of their recent tracks, “The Bad Habits” stayed in the Traxsource Top 100 for several weeks, and a recent collaboration with Makito ("The Friendship Links”) hit the number 1 spot in the Jackin’ House charts. 

Brothers in Arts are rocking the Nu-Disco world right now, and are a serious talent to watch out for in 2021. The Magic Track is a co-operation of two infatuated house and disco DJs and Producers from Debrecen, Hungary

Gio, formerly known as Giocator was raised on classic house and techno, and also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synth-funk sound. In his twenties he produced Drum & Bass, released more than 50 tunes worldwide and also managed a label called: Black Seeds Recordings.

After more than a decade of DNB, he returned to the disco scene and now he takes advantage of his previous experiences and learned skills to create something new.

Gio is a typical INTJ, constantly pursuing and seeking for patterns. A wine-lover, who admires Russian literature as much as Latin culture and mentality.

DRJ, formerly known as Dr. Juzztice - grown up on 80's pop, indie, and UK punk - first played as a DJ 20 years ago in local bars, community radio stations.

With his former crew he was the promoter of a chillout venue of a local festival for more than a decade. He loved playing slower genres, like dub, downtempo and later he was very much into broken beat, nu jazz, or headz - among others.

Always spiced his mixes with some funk and around 2018 he finally fell in love with disco. He is an amateur cook, runner and a big fan of French comics.

It was inevitable that these guys will work together sometimes. They both love the classic funk & soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes.

Their producer career was started in 2020 only, with some minor appearances on And Friends Records. Couple months later but still in 2020, they released their first solo EP 'Four Seasons' on Furious Mandrill Records. Their first little successes, came in early 2021, when their second Furious Mandrill EP reached the TOP 10 at Junodownload and it was sitting there for more than two weeks. By that time their music was supported by Fingerman, Pete Herbert, The Funk District, Stephen Richards, Mannix, Paul Older, Igor Gonya and they made a lot of nice friendships which was a great catalyst on their productivity. They appeared again on toplists several times and made some nice releases on Spa In Disco, Tropical Disco Records or Masterworks Music.

Their latest digital EP was released on Hot Digits Music in July and also made it into the TOP100 on Junodownload. And what's more: some of their latest tunes were hit the record stores as well, as they released on Daje Funk Records, Legofunk, and on The Very Polish Cut outs.
