We are The Magpies, a Glasgow based alternative pop folk band.
 
With Lizzie King on lead vocals and guitar, Doro Weber on drums and Peter Keay on bass and backing vocals, our music is a joyous fusion of acoustic, pop and folk and is influenced by the likes of KT Tunstall, Gabrielle Aplin, The Dear Hunter and Vulfpeck.
 
We hit the ground running with our debut performance supporting the Coaltown Daisies at a sold out show in Fife in January 2016, with rafters and fans queuing out the door.
 
Leading on from this, we released our self-produced debut EP 'Wait For The Sunrise', bringing the endorsement of Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly, who played our song 'Here Again' on Amazing Radio. The summer saw us support Heather Peace at Band on the Wall in Manchester, and perform at some exciting festivals including L Fest in Uttoxeter and Manchester Pride.

We recently played at Celtic Connections on the Danny Kyle Open Stage, the festival's stage for emerging talent. We were honoured to play again at the final showcase and to have received a Danny Award.
 
We are currently working on writing and recording new material, to be shared with you soon.
