Hailing from Utrecht (Netherlands), Kasper Koman has quickly become a favourite amongst artists & fans alike with his unique production style & undeniable musical aesthetic, earning him high-profile releases on John Digweed's 'Bedrock', Guy J's 'Lost & Found', Guy Mantzur's 'Plattenbank' & the mighty 'Anjunadeep', Above & Beyond's deeper imprint. After an initial appearance on 'Juicebox Music' with a remix of Monojoke's "Cold City" in 2018, he returned to the imprint in mid-2020 to gracefully present one of his biggest releases till date - a milestone 2-track EP featuring "In Circles" & "Wilder". We're excited to celebrate our 51st release on Juicebox Music with new interpretations of Kasper Koman's "Wilder" by two label debutants - Alex O'Rion & Doppel.

Fellow Dutchman & Nijkerk resident, Alex O'Rion is no stranger to the industry with over a decade long experience of music production under his belt. Considered as one of the leading artists of today's progressive house space, his work can be found on highly influential imprints like Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Guy J's 'Lost & Found', Cid Inc's 'Replug' + GMJ & Matter's 'meanwhile' to name a few. For his remix of Kasper Koman's "Wilder", Alex O'Rion injects his lush, warm & groovy trademark sound around the distorted piano chords & bubbly arp of the original, giving it a more driving & atmospheric vibe.

Killahurtz - Return to West on 27th

The 'Killaz' return with a huge remix package, courtesy of some of the hottest dance producers in clubland right now.

Hernan Cattaneo and Martin Garcia deliver an absolutely stomping 'Killa Breaks' remix, which is set to rock dance floors around the world.
Their '4/4' remix takes things in a similar direction, delivering everything and more (much more). 

Next up is the dynamic partnership of Luke Brancaccio and Gai Barone. These guys are on fire right now and their remix is no exception.
Luke informed us that they went back to the project several times - boy has that payed off. Its a monstrous remix, which twists and turns from start to finish.

Finally, we have the German maestro himself, Timo Maas. Timo has dropped a Techno bomb which is absolutely sublime. His nod to 'Twilo' in New York takes things in a more underground direction with a heavy groove, that really packs a punch!

Mike Griego returns to the label with the 'Foreign Affair' EP. 

It's been a subdued 2021 for Mike, who's focused much of the year on studio work. But after a brace of releases for The Soundgarden and Replug, he's back in the swing of things and his music means everything to us.

The EP opens with title track 'Foreign Affair', a bongo-led groover with silky smooth vibes. Huge kicks fill the low end as wafer-thin pads punctuate the deepness. Picking up pace midway, sonics and percussive layers increase the tempo before the main break, leading to an aquatic calm before powering into the second half. Next up, 'Erini' lays down a more traditional bass-led vibe. Deep and drenched in reverb, guitar licks light up the soundscape playfully melting into the percussive framework. A xylophone melody completes the picture. Finally, Mike drops a dub version of 'Foreign Affair' to round out the pack toughening up the original and putting more emphasis on the growling bass that syncopates the rhythm.

A respected name within the progressive house fraternity, Forerunners makes a welcome return to Meanwhile with his first full release in the shape of the "Ancient Methods" EP.

Operating out of his Arizona home, Brenden LaBonte has consistently found himself at the forefront of a distinctive underground house sound with his Forerunners soubriquet. An advocate of the quality over quantity' maxim and a sound that is full of maturity and quality, the US artist has seen his music allied to a plethora of high-profile imprints that include Anjunadeep, Silk Music, and Black Hole Recordings.

Now returning to GMJ and Matter's flagship imprint after a spell-binding interpretation of Mike Isai's "Home" in July 2021, Meanwhile's 21st release sees Forerunners open his "Ancient Methods" EP with the mesmerising title track. Full of melodic poise and rhythmic interplay, a driving beat and tight off-beat percussion heralds a dynamic opening before a mechanic bassline and syncopated groove create the foundation for delicate motifs to lilt their way across the 8-minute track with ease. Delay-infused effects and pitched synth add to the aural atmosphere at the breakdown as a sustained pad holds sway throughout to create a subtle tension and hypnotic vibe.

The complex rhythmic foundation that infuses the oxymoronic "Light in the Darkness" is a powerful forerunner for the deep melodic melange to follow. As running bassline and swirling effects build, a dizzying breakdown of looped arpeggio provides sonic intrigue and bright, uplifting zenith. Exploding into the third movement, an hypnotic melody sits against oppressive bass and rhythm to create a magical track.

Continuing the dark rhythmic narrative of its predecessors, "Valis" provides another sonic tapestry filled with texture and innovation. Beneath a ticking percussive groove and chest-thumping kick, an effects-laden and pitched oscillator bassline reveal themselves across the 6-minute offering as a mesmerising arp creates a powerful melodic presence in the mid-range. Science-fiction inspired effects that the Future Sound of London would be proud of, infuse the breakdown as the second half drops into the huge bass-heavy underpinning once more.

Redolent in modern and innovative production technique and a cutting-edge sound, Forerunners brings a scintillating new approach to "Ancient Methods".

Heading to the stratosphere, ethereal pads sublimate into an aural vapour above a bedrock of rhythmic intrigue. Rising from the early morning mist, "Namaste" echoes a bassline dominance and imperceptibly heard motif. Shimmering in the golden sunlight a new phrase opens up with summer warmth and joy, built upon a heavy beat and chunky percussion.

Out of the bustling Berlin metropolis, Torsten Fassbender delivers a cutting-edge sound. Icy leads and glittering arpeggios glide in coruscating patterns with subtle reference to "Basanta". Myriad textures and sounds come together in a magnificent sonic landscape that glistens in the sun of snow-capped mountain tops. A UK powerhouse returns to familiar surroundings where Imran Khan creates a trademark foundation of granite bassline and earth-shattering groove. White-noise dissolves in white heat as it swirls in dizzying patterns. Hypnotism reigns supreme through rhythmic metronome, while power chords hold sustained force against swirling effects.

A regular on Juicebox Music, DNYO makes yet another return to the imprint with his 2nd solo EP featuring "Halcyon", "Sensoria" and "Space Monk" as our 53rd release. Better known to his friends and family as Danny Oliveira, the São Paulo based artist showcased a different and deeper side of his usual style with his previous tracks - "Radiate" and "Closer Distance", earning a huge wave of praise and admiration within the community. However, it didn't take much for DNYO to steer back into his twisted path and these three tracks perfectly embody what he's notorious for with his genre-bending style - intricate sound design, harmonic complexities and non-linear approach.

"Halcyon" punches through with it's powerful in-your-face drive, supported by a rolling arpeggiated synth-line that constantly shifts in tonality, teasing you into the light, only to draw you back in to the darkness. "Sensoria" embraces a whirlwind of other-worldly bursts of synths stabs on top of a playful percussive groove while "Space Monk" recites a beautiful atmosphere on a funk-inspired bassline, collectively inspired by in the golden era of progressive.
