Opening the month of April, Ziger's Eat My Hat Music welcomes Sajith Prakash back to the label for a new EP. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in April of 2021 with the well-received 'Bolivian Diary' EP. The two-track showcase proved to be a highlight in Sajith's discography with both selections shooting to the top of his Beatport Best Sellers chart. The year would bring further successes for the Bangalore resident, with an Eat My Hat follow-up landing in July along with projects for Droid9 and Soundteller Records. Continuing to build a bond with the label, Sajith's 2022 would be highlighted by a third Eat My Hat EP entitled 'Lights' which still sits atop his Beatport best sellers. Now, returning for his fourth project in three years, Sajith lands back on Eat My Hat with 'Protostar'.

Much lauded for his groovy sounds, Sajith continues to explore that narrative on 'Protostar'. Wrapped within a fluid rhythmic shell are punchy beats, pulsating basslines and a myriad of tantalizing effects. The Indian artist's storyboarding takes hold as enchanting vocal elements and crunchy arps shine through a driving percussive forest and thunderous slabs of bass. The main break showcases Sajith's propensity for genuine musicality, as evocative melodies continue to emerge, while shapeshifting effects sweep across the stereo field, eventually giving way to an intense drop and uplifting finale.

The companion piece 'Paradox' continues the progressive tone set by its predecessor and lands with a deeper dance floor disposition. Possessing an emotive undercurrent, Sajith works hypnotizing percussion over chunky grooves and dubby tones, creating waves of hypnotic energy across the first act. Its subdued pulse builds subtly, as plucky arps and phasing harmonics converge across a glowing break; a memorable interlude where nostalgic effects and tasteful modulation lead to a finale of poignant chord changes. A stunning conclusion to an excellent Eat My Hat return for Sajith Prakash, an artist who continues to emerge from Indian's progressive music landscape.

Rounding out a strong spring season, Antrim’s Or Two Strangers welcomes Paula OS back to the label for a new single. Born in Chile but now Buenos Aires based, Paula shot into the electronic music spotlight in 2016 with her vocal work on Jos & Eli’s ‘Walking On Water’. Released through long standing German imprint Einmusika, it set the course for what has been a remarkable seven-year stretch. Paula has since gone on to collaborate with some of progressive music’s most esteemed talents in Antrim, Ezequiel Arias, Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile, Kamilo Sanclemente and more. It’s these unique pairings which has led to an impeccable resume highlighted by releases via Anjunadeep, Selador, Sound Avenue, Sudbeat and UV. Having already appeared on Or Two Strangers three previous times dating back to 2017, Paula now returns to the label for his first solo single entitled ‘Rival’, alongside remixes from John Cosani and Greg Ochman.

Returning to the label with the first interpretation of ‘Rival’ is John Cosani. With a career that spans well over a decade Argentinean producer John Cosani has established himself as one of the progressive genre’s veteran artists. On the strength of early tracks John earned the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, in turn landing standout projects via Mango Alley, Sudbeat Music, Tale & Tone and more. Antrim’s Or Two Strangers has also served as an important landing spot for John, with an EP and remix landing across 2019 and 2020 respectively. Now, following a remix for Ric Niels and Dowden to begin the year, John returns to Or Two Strangers with a stirring take on ‘Rival’. While maintaining the uplifting spirit of the original, the Buenos Aires resident crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, a sleek hypnotic journey where flowing basslines and deconstructed vocals surface from their rhythmic architecture, onwards to a finale of emotive grooves and fluttery arps.

Presenting their second release of the year, Just Movement opens the summer season by welcoming Zone + to the label for his debut single. Bahrain born Dubai based producer Zone + aka Zeyad Mohsen has been a fixture of the deep house community for the better part of a decade. Having firmly established himself with a resonate worldly sound and releases via All Day I Dream, Akbal Music, Hoomidaas and Sol Selectas; Zone + now sits as one of organic music's elite talents. Also, a consummate DJ, Zone + has taken his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills to some of the world's premiere clubs and festivals, playing alongside Behrouz, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Rodriguez Jr., YokoO and more. Now, in a year that has seen Zone + feature on Tim Green's recent Balance compilation, he continues to impress with his Just Movement debut 'Labyrinth', alongside a remix from Hermanez. 

With a whimsical flair, it is the original mix which leads the release off. Warm, voluptuous basslines lay the foundation for spirited vocal elements and panoramic arps to work their magic. Driving percussive arrangements maintain an energetic cadence, while timely chord changes and placid pads move from esoteric to emotive leading into the break. Masterfully constructed, the interlude delights with its buoyant rhythmic themes, eventually melting down to calming percussive rides, perfectly setting the course for a groovy finale. 

The release concludes with Hermanez making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'Labyrinth'. Hailing from Belgium, Hermanez brings an inventive approach to his brand of electronic composition. Throughout his varied discography, he touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling a divide between intergalactic design and organic-inspired beats, resulting in one amorphous sound of his own. Initially known for his timeless, tech-soul productions on Mobilee Records, Noir Music and Suara, the Genk resident has enjoyed a career renaissance across the last half decade, remodelling his sound with deeper, more musical and delightfully organic leanings. It's a shift that has propelled him into one of the genre's elite talents, in turn landing him projects via All Day I Dream, Bedrock, Lost and Found, Souksonic and TRYBESof. Now, fresh off an EP for YokoO's SATYA imprint, Hermanez makes his Just Movement debut with a spiritual take on 'Labyrinth'. While maintaining the glowing spirit of the original, the Belgian artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, a transcendent journey into an organic hinterland, where fragmented vocals, warm synth phrasing and charming effects surface from their exotic architecture, onwards to a finale of balmy grooves and haunting overlays.
