Brazilian DJ and producer Mind Echoes delivers a stunning two-track EP that encapsulates his hypnotic and emotive sound. Known for releases on esteemed labels like Mango Alley, Comet, and Transensations, Mind Echoes has captivated fans and industry titans alike, with support from legends such as Hernan Cattaneo and Gai Barone. The originals on Unsafe Numbers showcase his signature style, blending driving rhythms with evocative melodies that transport listeners into his sonic universe. Adding a seismic layer of energy to the release, Brazilian maestro Tonaco and Argentine trailblazer Tomas Garcia team up for a powerhouse remix of the title track. Tonaco, a purveyor of deep, melodic grooves, has left his mark on labels like Meanwhile and Genesis Music, while Tomas Garcia brings his unique progressive flair, honed through standout releases on Proportion and Juicebox Music. Together, their remix transforms Unsafe Numbers into an anthem destined to ignite dancefloors. This release marks the final chapter of 2024 for onedotsixtwo. It has been an incredible year filled with unforgettable music, and were closing it out with Unsafe Numbers—a release that exemplifies the spirit of progressive house. Following an impressive first release, Luum Records welcomes Tonaco to the label for their second and much anticipated offering. Since first appearing in 2019 with an EP via Transensations, Brazilian artist Tonaco has enjoyed a steady rise within the global progressive house scene. Noted for his blend of powerful grooves, hypnotic rhythms and evocative melodies, the Tocantins resident has excelled at creating his own brand of progressive house, making him one of the most promising artists to emerge from Brazil across the last half decade. Juicebox Music, Mango Alley, Meanwhile, Vapour Recordings and WARPP have been vehicles for his creative swell in recent years, in turn earning support from progressive house tastemakers Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. With 2024 being highlighted by a thunderous remix of 'Cressida' by Chaum and Hobin Rude for Juicebox Music, a track which peaked at #2 in Beatport's Progressive House chart, Tonaco begins 2025 on an impressive note, making his Lumm Records debut with 'Extrema'. 

Beginning with ‘Extrema’, Tonaco showcases a peak time approach which sets the tone for the EP. Full of dark textures and cutting edge design qualities, the Brazilian phenom expertly blends punchy kick drums and tough shapely grooves, with deconstructed vocal samples, wavy arps and buzzing synth mutations, for an energetic path into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, it's a growling acid line which emerges to steal the air in tension filled pyrotechnic fashion. A brave and unconventional approach, certainly something you don't hear much in progressive house these days, but it shifts the mood momentarily in all its squelchy glory, before a well-timed drop seals a smooth yet exhilarating finale. 

The companion piece 'Gautama' sits as a worthy complement to its predecessor and opts for a sleeker more hypnotic approach. The track's first movement is built around chunky grooves, billowing stabs and a trippy vocal loop which sits gently below the surface. Its rhythmic and percussive appeal is high, in a dark room New York kind of way, add to that a topline of transcendent pads and textural drifts which highlights the break, and you've got a late night floor burner of the highest order. A fitting way to cap off the EP, and one which furthers Tonaco's path into the upper echelon of progressive house. Highly recommended.

Bursting onto the Progressive House scene in mid-2020, Fausto Javier Loza has carved out quite a name for himself with his FJL production moniker. Since a debut on Balkan United, the Argentinean producer has found his music allied to such esteemed imprints as sister Madlochs Sound Avenue and 3rd Avenue, Roger Martinezs HIGHER STATES and Mangos all-conquering Mango Alley. Now the Rosario resident from the province of Sante Fe, debuts on Proportion with a 3-track EP of the highest order as FJL presents his Alter Ego / Losstower / Rare Wizards EP. With a deep, fizzing bassline narrative running throughout the triptych, Alter Ego is a chunky rhythmic powerhouse that sees a chest-thumping kick paired with a deliciously grooved bass pattern creating a sublime rolling pattern. A kaleidoscopic array of effects and risers are scattered across the 6-minute piece as a delicate arpeggiated melody gradually evolves from the low-end foundation. Pulsating white-noise washes and a hypnotic dance-floor vibe add to proceedings in an impressive opener. A Tech House vibe infuses Losstower with its plethora of stereo-panned effects and sub-bass groove. A series of cleverly treated vocal effects add to the sonic melange with their eerie overtones, while meticulously programmed hats and shakers provide dancefloor urgency. Subtle melodic flourishes add to the overall feel and the result is a production masterclass from the FJL studio. The final offering sees Rare Wizards immediately showcase its club-friendly credentials through house rhythm and hypnotic bass sequence. In keeping with its partner tracks, a flurry of deep, dark and powerful effects make their presence felt alongside evolving textures and immaculate melodic touches. Layer upon layer of evermore intricate sounds come to the fore, felt especially keenly at the powerfully pulsing breakdown, before returning to the dramatic rhythmic urgency and plethora of effects that create a track bringing to mind such maestros such as John Digweed, Quivver and Jamie Stevens.

Continuing to showcase exciting new talent, Clubsonica Records welcomes COQUEIT to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, COQUEIT has been a fixture of the progressive house scene across the last four years. The Cordoba resident first rose to prominence with a string of early projects for AH Digital and Droid9 South America, where he established a melodic, progressive style that made him a name to watch. Continuing to perfect his craft going forward, COQUEIT would earn the support of genre tastemakers Antrim, Ezequiel Arias, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sahar Z, in turn landing him releases via Mango Alley and Univack. With the onset of 2025 highlighted by a well-received debut for Or Two Strangers, COQUEIT continues to break further ground as the year enters its second quarter, adding Clubsonica to his resume with ‘Warning’. 

The peak time sounds of the title selection ’Warning’ steal the air and present a prophetic monochrome within COQUEIT’s repertoire, as charged beats, rebounding rhythms and pyrotechnic effects converge for an electric narrative. Advancing the journey further across the break, it’s a set of siren-like synth flairs which emerge and travel to the very edges, before a finale of heavily manipulated stabs cast a paranoid spell over the dancefloor.

The second selection ‘Fox River’ finds COQUEIT crafting a groovy melodic number that’s nicely suited for those uplifting dancefloor moments. Smooth key changing basslines forecast a powerful yet emotive low end, while glowing pads and effervescent melodies instantly commands your attention. Coming to full friction during the interlude, trance-inducing motifs provide an enduring main theme, eventually culminating in a crescendo of effects-laden euphoria.

Rounding out the release are the multi-dimensional sounds of ‘Sona’. Instantly seductive, its industrial structures and mesmerizing machine progressions drive each other into a whirlpool of spiralling directions, making for a flexible club track that bends between scenes while injecting vibrant energy into the dancefloor.
