Beloved for their combination of groove and melody, NuFects return to Clubsonica for their much-anticipated debut EP. Conceptualized in 2013, Colombian artists Alejo Cortes and Carlos Lopez aka NuFects decided to undertake a project full of energy, joy, colour and intrigue. They started producing progressive and organic house under the name NuFects, quickly earning recognition from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Cid Inc, along with very important local talents Dabeat, Gux Jimenez and Kamilo Sanclemente. Also finding a place in the more melodic uptempo realms of the genre, legends Paul Oakenfold and Solarstone became NuFects supporters, playlisting their music and making the duo a legit crossover act. Nufects now makes a welcome return to the label for their debut EP 'Wild | Sordina', alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and Sebastian Sellares. 

Destined to be a highlight in Nufects discography, it is the melodic stylings of 'Wild' which get the release underway. Electrically charged from the outset, its rolling rhythmic structures, striking electronics and character rich groove set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Euphoric chord stabs and haunting atmospheres rise across the first act, carrying momentum and mood into the main break. Acid-like lines delight across the centrepiece, eventually melting down to the duo's symphonic motifs, as flurries of drums and rising sonics unite for a tasteful crescendo and cosmic finale. The companion piece finds NuFects collaborating with fellow countryman Jab Vix. Together the trio masterfully synthesize their talents into one singular progressive vision that is 'Sordina'. Continuing the groove-centric vibes of its predecessor, the trio let's lush vocal elements and reflective chord stabs descend over perfectly carved basslines and flashing percussive arrangements for the ultimate mid-set style groover. 

Providing the interpretation of 'Wild' is Juan Deminicis. As a favourite of progressive music's top tastemakers in Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J, the Argentinean artist has released on some of the genre's finest imprints over the course of his now fifteen year career. Hoomidas, Lost and Found, Replug, Souksonic and Sudbeat Music have all been regular landing spots for the talented Buenos Aires resident. With three remixes for the label across the last five calendar years, Juan makes a welcome return to Clubsonica, taking 'Wild' into deeper territory. Rather than burst into a dancefloor whirlwind or electronic symphony, Juan's interpretation evokes its emotions through slow burn repetition, dodging expectations and emphasizing its conceptual charm, painting idyllic scenes of solitude, as hypnagogic motifs unveil a semi-conscious dreamland, before the Argentine's progressive attitude reveals itself during a second act of driving grooves, haunting atmospheres and cosmic effects. 

Providing the interpretation of 'Sordina' is Sebastian Sellares. UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Antrim's Or Two Strangers, Cid Inc's Replug Records and GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile have all served as landing spots for the Argentine's beloved sound, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J have been steadfast supporters along the way. Sebastian now makes his Clubsonica debut with a gorgeous take on 'Sordina'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Argentinean artist crafts a sweeping sonic experience all his own, a spirited journey into an atmospheric hinterland, where rolling basslines and emotive melodies surface from their progressive architecture, onwards to a finale of chugging grooves and hopeful overlays. A heartfelt interpretation from Sebastian, which rounds out a must have EP from NuFects, an artist duo who continues to impress and emerge from Colombia's electronic music landscape.

Clubsonica Records opens the summer season by welcoming Juan Sapia back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases on top tier imprints such as EDGE, Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music, and The Soundgarden. Now, following an EP for Argentina's pad records to begin the year, Juan makes a welcome return to the label with 'Aura | Forest Song', alongside remixes from Paul Deep and Leo Guerrero. 

As the progressive grooves and swaying rhythms of opener ‘Aura' unfold, it's clear that Juan's craft must be taken to heart. Renowned for his trance-inspired melodies, the Buenos Aires resident opts for a deeper approach here, working placid pads over dulcet grooves and dusty percussive arrangements. Building patiently across the first movement, its creamy tones and heartfelt harmonies marry beautifully during a transcendent break, before layers of wind-swept sonics cue a gorgeous drop and glowing finale. Beneath the calming waves of ‘Aura' lies a tastefully melodic production entitled ‘Forest Song'. Evoking a confident club energy from the start, Juan's colourful sonics, emotionally resonant hooks and nostalgic melodies blanket a tight yet groovy framework. With an infectious energy that could win over even the most discerning of fans, it's a journey that becomes unabashedly epic at its peak, as melodies unite in a whirlpool of textural bliss, making for a sure fire dance floor weapon.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Aura' is Paul Deep. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale & Tone, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul's sound. With his year being highlighted by an EP for Dmitry Molosh's Proportion imprint, Paul now makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of ‘Aura'. Focusing on a slightly darker monochrome, the Buenos Aires resident goes deep and techy for what results in a heady nine-minute journey. Rebounding rhythms and deep chugging basslines set the course for snatches of flickering percussion and growling stabs. Looking to bring a greater emotional response, the main break shifts the narrative through heartfelt chord changes and trance-inducing melodies, before a wave of white noise perfectly sets up a stripped back drop and meditative finale. 

The release concludes with Leo Guerrero making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Forest Song'. Hailing from Colombia, new  inspirations led Leo to progressive music where he restarted his production journey under his own name, while finding a home on Antrim's Strangers Beats and D-Nox's Sprout. Continuing on this explorative path, the Medellin resident now adds Clubsonica to his resume with a powerful take on ‘Forest Song'. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Colombian artist channels the melodic energy of the original through panoramic synths and percolating arps, before a deconstructed take on the main musical theme emerges across the break, perfectly setting up a thrilling peak-time finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Leo, which rounds out a must have return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to stand out in Argentina's progressive house landscape.

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Clubsonica Records welcomes AKSOM to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Colombia, AKSOM is at the beginning of his journey into the world of melodic house and techno. As a professional producer for some time, the Cali resident has discovered a new-found inspiration from the genre and in turn created a distinct sound for his AKSOM moniker. Now, unveiling the project for the first time, AKSOM debuts on Clubsonica with 'Artefactum | Saturn', alongside remixes from Kamilo Sanclemente and Juan Pablo Torrez.

Beginning with 'Artefactum', AKSOM flexes his free-thinking muscles with a creation that's equally at home on a peak time dance floor or floating above a festival skyline. Punchy beats, trance-inducing melodies and siren-like textures marry beautifully across the first movement, expertly building tension as the main break approaches. A euphoric shade is revealed during the interlude, rising against a backdrop of percussive rides and grandiose phrases, before a thrilling drop sets the course for a finale of clustered sonics and symphonic motifs. Meanwhile, the companion piece 'Saturn' is an apt barometer of where AKSOM's headspace is at, as he lets tight kick drums lay the foundation for flashing arps and deconstructed horns to carve a path into a poignant centrepiece. Big, bold and magnificent; yet intricately crafted with wavy arps and metallic sonics, it's AKSOM's sophisticated musicality and mature no-frills arrangement which preludes a hands in the air finale. 

Returning to the label 'Artefactum' is Kamilo Sanclemente. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Kamilo has earned the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while showcasing his music via All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, The Soundgarden, Replug and more. Affiliated with Clubsonica for some time, the Cali resident has operated as the label's AandR, while also recording eight originals and five remixes since making his label debut in 2015. Now, making a welcome return Kamilo dials in a thrilling rendition of 'Artefactum'. Spanning seven magical minutes, Kamilo's imaginative rework resonates on a profound level, as he expertly transforms the parts into a consciousness-expanding conversion of musical ideas, one where sleek dance floor minded grooves meet driving percussion, charming effects and hopeful overlays in a colourful progressive marriage.

The release concludes with Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez providing the lone interpretation of 'Saturn'. Mango Alley, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Matador, and more. In a year that has already seen Juan deliver a single for Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank imprint, he now returns to his comfortable home of Clubsonica with a huge rendition of 'Saturn'. Taking a cue from the original but with a progressive state of mind, Juan works flashing percussion and rolling rhythmic structures over hip-swinging grooves for the ultimate dance floor presence. Complete with striking melodic fragments, hyperactive arps and a forest of prophetic designs, it's an adrenalized energy-rush for the ages – one where Juan lands at his creative best. A powerful interpretation from the Clubsonica boss, which rounds an auspicious debut offering from AKSOM, a new-found artist moniker that you'll certainly be hearing more about in future.
