Story:

A man without a shadow, residing within the Wakamiya Shrine. When one says "having a faint presence" in general, it refers to being unobtrusive or barely noticeable. But for this man, it's taken literally. While you can see and speak to him when you're beside him, as soon as you look away, he's instantly forgotten, disappearing from one's memory and perception, like mist.

This peculiar ability of his had piqued the interest of many. Especially those in need of information. Unnoticed, he can infiltrate anywhere and gather information.

Among those intrigued were the ninja cats known as the Phat Cats. They had come to the Wakamiya Shrine seeking vital information. The key to this information was, of course, the man without a shadow.

At night, within the grounds of the shrine, the Phat Cats quietly lay in wait for the man's return. Time slowly passed amidst the wind. The cats had undergone special training to sense his return. Ordinary people might walk right past him without noticing. But the ninja cats were different.

At last, the moment arrived. The sound of the shrine's door slowly opening could be heard. Yet, nothing was visible. The Phat Cats concentrated, trying to sense his presence. Then, a faint scent and the soft sound of footsteps reached them. The man without a shadow had returned.

"What do you seek?" his voice echoed softly.

A cat stepped forward, "We've come seeking information. We wish for your assistance, using your abilities to help us obtain it."

The man without a shadow pondered for a moment before nodding slowly, "Understood. But …”
