this song was written while spending a few days back home in manchester, the photo is of a friend who i miss


its not always a good idea
 to walk in your fathers  steps
not if he's heading for a brick wall
mayby the not best idea
to do as he says   
maybe you should learn how to hold your tongue    

better cross the street walk on the other side
you dont waste your time
on a lost cause
 but your frustrated 
in how you feel
cause your just as stubborn as him

no he doesnt care 
of what you say
all your kind words fall on deaf ears
life has cheated him
tricked him good
 all he see's is how it should of been 

you stand and watch and worry your self  
that you might turn out the same
but you love so you must accept 
that he's  just how he  is

so no more blame or being ashamed 
he gave you life and taught you how to see
he may have beat you 
hurt you with words
but he was there every single day 


we all struggle 
in our own minds
but why cant we see  oh goodness
instead of puttting up a pointless fight
when we could just smile and be grateful
