Stockholm’s Tiger Stripes appears on Matt Edwards’ Rekids for the first time with the ‘I Heard It Through The Bassline’ two-tracker. The EP starts with the aptly named title track, defined by its deeply infectious bass, which propels forward along tight house grooves and classy gospel vocals. ‘I Heard It Through the Bassline’ is followed by Tiger Stripes’ ‘Everybody’s Doing It’, a stylish, low-slung people mover with the air of a vibey, dim-lit establishment or introspective late-night journey through the city.

Strange Idols label founder Tiger Stripes is a prolific producer, remixer, and DJ who has been active since the early 2000s. He’s collaborated with artists like Kerri Chandler and Jerome Sydenham and released music via heavyweight underground imprints, including Hot Creations, Get Physical, and Sydenham’s Ibadan. Now, he moves the needle again with the ‘I Heard It Through the Bassline’ EP on Rekids.

Audiojack’s 90s Dreamin’ EP samples some throwbacks to their youth, when hip-hop featured prominently on the speakers. “We made 90s Dreamin’ as a secret weapon for the end of our own DJ sets, and after a year of airplay and tracklist requests, it’s time to release it. No Biggie is another familiar throwback we made to get the dancefloor moving earlier in a set.” 

The EP is out now on Gruuv, with support from DJs including Marco Carola, Hector Couto, Riva Starr, Jamie Jones, Huxley, Lo Steppa, and Hannah Wants.

DJ Sneak and Tripmastaz collaborate as RareTwo Inc. for three soulful cuts entitled ‘The Blast Off’ EP, dropping on Hottrax in December. 

One of Chicago’s most renowned house music artists, DJ Sneak pairs up with Plant 74 founder Tripmastaz - one of Russia’s finest exports - once again under their collaborative guise RareTwo Inc. Initially collaborating on Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster label in 2014, the duo has continued to work together on labels like Ovum, Kaluki, Mr. Nice Guy and Reptile Dysfunction, before debuting their RareTwo Inc. moniker on Kwench Records earlier this year. Finding a fan in Jamie Jones, they now join Hottrax with ‘The Blast Off’ EP following outings from Mason Collective, System2, Kevin Knapp, Waze & Odyssey, and more. 

Funk infused samples, passionate vocals and an undulating percussive groove sets the tone in ‘Cum 2Geza’ before ‘Up High’ delivers a spiraling synth line and pulsating sub bass bouncing delightfully off the effervescent drums. ‘The Blast Off’ then finishes things off with luscious pads and rattling percussion to create a spirited atmosphere throughout.

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, The Martinez Brothers are two of the most consistent and recognizable names in the world of house.  Stevie and Chris continue to push themselves creatively in the studio collaborating with global and Latinx artists such as Rauw Alejandro, Fuego, Rema and Tokischa. 

In 2023, we find The Martinez Brothers in a moment of creative renewal, kicking off an exciting new chapter in their illustrious career. They continue to cast a wide net with their collaborations, stepping into the studio with a new generation of artists like Eliza Rose, Tommy Genesis and Mochakk.  

The brothers are furthering their love affair with Ibiza in their second year residency at Hï Ibiza voted #1 Club in the World, after 10 years as residents at Circoloco, Ibiza. Paying homage to the isle that catapulted them to stardom, it was in Ibiza that they met Riccardo Tisci who brought them in to do the music design for his iconic years at Givenchy (2014-2015). 

Last year, the brothers headlined London’s hottest show of the year at Beams warehouse alongside Skepta, who debuted his first house music DJ set in his hometown.  Alongside this, they played the Met Gala afterparty hosted by Dua Lipa and at LOEWE’s Paula’s Ibiza pop up at the Sheats-Goldstein home in LA. 

In 2023 stage hosts include Kappa Futur Festival in Turin, Italy, Panorama Festival in Southern Italy, Eastern Electrics, London, Fabrik, Madrid, Audio Obscura at Amsterdam Dance Event and III Points Festival, Miami. 

The duo are avid sneaker collectors and vinyl record collectors, from all eras of Latin salsa, disco, funk, soul, jazz house and techno.
