It’s a long time since we last heard from dOP. The boys have been far from quiet, continuing to tour and enchant party people across the world with their infectious fusion of house music and refined songwriting. They’ve equally been no strangers to the studio, with their Les Fils Du Calvaire project releasing the recent Rester Avec Toi collaboration with Miss Kittin in preparation for the debut album of the project later this year. Equally their production talents have been felt in the recent Aquarius Heaven EP Bato Chargé, and vocalist JAW was recently spotted kicking off the Circus Company Limited series with “Traitor Creator”, his collaboration with Piers Faccini. Finally though the time has come for dOP to return to the record in their original form with a new four track EP that perfectly captures where the trio of Damien, Clement and JAW are at right now.

The sound on Email From A Beetle is a full-fat, club ready confection that distills the live energy of dOP into four varied but equally ear-snagging tracks that simply demand your attention. The title track in some ways harks back to the introspection of their earlier material, keeping the rhythmic elements sparse and simmering to lend ample space to JAW’s captivating vocal line, but there’s still plenty of space for Damien’s expressive keys to cut through as the song peaks.

“Melancholia” is, as the name suggests, a more reflective piece with a gentle swing and emotive melodic lines, but there’s plenty more fun times to be had as well as the infectious house bump of “Foreplay” takes hold with a hard-skipping beat and rock solid bass line. If there was any doubt that warm, rounded analogue sounds power dOP these days, “Summer Rain” is on hand with its shocking stabs of dazzling synth capturing a feverish mood that calls out to the impending sunny months of the year.

Always a group committed to moving forward with their sound, this EP serves as an exciting next step for dOP while retaining the compositional flair and addictive energy that has kept them close to our hearts all these years.

Max Chapman burst onto the scene less than three years ago with a string of quality releases on highly respected imprints such as Elrow, Snatch, Viva and Lost. With a huge overall Beatport #1 under his belt last year in 'Body Jack', 2017 is shaping up to be his biggest, most successful year to date - and this EP is seriously large.

He locks horns with up and coming maestro George Smeddles here for a 2 tracker that ticks all the boxes for a solid underground cut. The lead track, 'Zulu', is a peak-time tech houser with ridiculous grooves, plenty of energy and THAT tribal vocal hook on the drop that everyone will be singing back to you upon it's release. The B-side 'Charger' slows things down a little and adds some sexy, bumpy grooves to proceedings making this a perfect, and flawlessly produced EP.

Hot off the back of recent releases on Toolroom, DFTD and Cajual, we have a fresh new offering from The Deepshakerz. If you have been anywhere near a club in the past 18 months you will no doubt have danced your ass off to one of these guys’ chart topping bombs! We are very excited to have them back on Deeperfect for the second time this year with one of their biggest EP’s to date.
On the title track, What To Want To Get, the boys come all guns blazing with party vibes ready to rock non stop. The tune is based around a feel good beat which oozes funk and grooves effortlessly with a deep pulsing sub bass. A catchy vocal hook keeps things locked in while the energy builds throughout.
Deeply Session brings a more traditional tech house beat. It has a smooth, syncopated feel and incorporates The Deepshakers signature swinging drums and fat bassline foundation. A throw back male vocal hook keeps things interesting and fun while the boys use sparse effects and retro synth stabs to great effect as the track progresses.
Rounding things out is Kiss The Radio. A funk-style drum break is paired with shakey percussion vibes and a series of deep synth riffs that cascade off one another to bring an edgy tension and contrast to the jacking groove. As things push on the unique vocal drops with maximum attitude and grit which brings this low-slung burner to the next level.

Following a remix on Hottrax, James Burnham aka Burnski is back under his James Solace alias to release Mind Music, a formidable first full release featuring four equally as impressive tracks released this February on Hot Creations.

Keep On sets the tone of this sumptuous release, rumbling sub-bass holds the track together, like a huge wave it slowly gains intensity, given room to breathe until it unfurls into a powerful weapon. A heavy dose of playful funk is applied on Catalyst, with guitar, squelching synth and a dash of warm soul. Mind Music is a deep and hypnotic piece, an addictive vocal loop over laser sharp synth and becomes firmly embedded in the psyche. Finally, Groove does what it says on the tin and sees James expertly craft another solid beat where growling bass combines with licks of pulsating acid that will undoubtedly send the dance floor into raptures.

UK hero James Solace also known as Burnski has made his name through a penchant for moving through many styles of music with ease, always being one step ahead of the trend and mixing the new with the old. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, The Martinez Brothers are two of the most consistent and recognizable names in the world of house.  Stevie and Chris continue to push themselves creatively in the studio collaborating with global and Latinx artists such as Rauw Alejandro, Fuego, Rema and Tokischa. 

In 2023, we find The Martinez Brothers in a moment of creative renewal, kicking off an exciting new chapter in their illustrious career. They continue to cast a wide net with their collaborations, stepping into the studio with a new generation of artists like Eliza Rose, Tommy Genesis and Mochakk.  

The brothers are furthering their love affair with Ibiza in their second year residency at Hï Ibiza voted #1 Club in the World, after 10 years as residents at Circoloco, Ibiza. Paying homage to the isle that catapulted them to stardom, it was in Ibiza that they met Riccardo Tisci who brought them in to do the music design for his iconic years at Givenchy (2014-2015). 

Last year, the brothers headlined London’s hottest show of the year at Beams warehouse alongside Skepta, who debuted his first house music DJ set in his hometown.  Alongside this, they played the Met Gala afterparty hosted by Dua Lipa and at LOEWE’s Paula’s Ibiza pop up at the Sheats-Goldstein home in LA. 

In 2023 stage hosts include Kappa Futur Festival in Turin, Italy, Panorama Festival in Southern Italy, Eastern Electrics, London, Fabrik, Madrid, Audio Obscura at Amsterdam Dance Event and III Points Festival, Miami. 

The duo are avid sneaker collectors and vinyl record collectors, from all eras of Latin salsa, disco, funk, soul, jazz house and techno.
