2013 has been another great year for Poker Flat Recordings. The imprint continued to carry out its mission - an unwavering dedication to the finest underground house music worldwide.

The unintentional focus on Berlin talent in 2013 is well represented on this essential compilation with Alex Niggemann's double contribution: the exceptional 'Tangram (The Bright End)' and Andre Lodemann's version of 'Lovers feat John Rydell', Martin Landsky's raw 'ET2', and Daniel Dexter's 'Birds' (remixed by Kollektiv Turmstrasse) as well of Uner's remix of 'Why So Serious'. 

Other undisputed highlights from the year include the return of the Foremost Poets - with remixes from both Dixon and label boss Steve Bug remixing 'Reasons to be Dismal' and 'No Adjustments' re- spectively. Throw in Wouter de Moor and Johannes Brecht, who have both seriously delivered over the year and we can easily say that going 15 years strong, each year seems to bring quality for DJs and electronic music-lovers alike.

Kicking off with the title cut, Response serves a weighty underbelly of chugging grooves and swinging bass notes complemented by endless percussive shuffle and playful vocal chops, resulting in an undeniably danceable underground vibe-builder. The BRODYR remix of Response offers dynamic contrast and oozes their signature Black Seven Music sound: potent drums, thick and prominent bass, and a never-ending wormhole of percussive movement to get lost in. With both their productions and sets gaining attention, Catsinka is a duo to watch closely. BRODYR, the dynamic DJ duo from North Wales, have been making waves in the global Tech House scene since 2015. Their name, meaning Brothers in Welsh, reflects their familial bond and powerful musical synergy, which is evident in their groove-laden, percussive Tech House style. Heavily influenced by Marco Carola, BRODYR have released successful tracks on their label, Black Seven Music, and Unnamed & Unknown and Distance. Beyond the studio, theyve electrified stages at top events like The Warehouse Project, Parklife, and Hideout Festival. As founders of Black Seven Music, they are key influencers in the Tech House genre, continuously pushing its boundaries while aspiring to make their label a global phenomenon. With a rich history and a future full of promise, BRODYR are a testament to innovation, brotherhood, and a relentless passion for electronic music.

Known for his releases in RYM ,  Little helpers or Deeperfect to name few and having amazing taste on Deep and Deep Tech is an artist that should be in our label. We don’t have much more to add just that this will be in the likes of any lover of the genre.

We are delighted to welcome back Mihai Popoviciu on our label after his successful remix on the track ’Nightcrawler’.  
His unique style and the quality of his productions made him a member of the deep house hall of fame and his tracks are always on the top of the charts.

We are sure the 2 originals and 3 remixes of the EP will lighten up all the deep house lovers’ heart. There is no question that this is the strongest EP ever on our imprint! 1000% quality music!  The title track ‘Flux’ is an epic bit of deep house that is one of the best tunes in the genre now in our honest opinion, perfect melodies on a smooth levitating foundation.  The 2nd original ’Lotus’ is the other side of the coin with its great dubby groove and catchy melodies.

On remix duties we asked the Pornbugs duo to rethink the title track Flux. The head honchos of the amazingly successful deep house label ‘Bondage Music ‘ created a remix which focuses on mesmerizing melodies and sweet percussions.

On Flux we got another amazing reinterpretation from an upcoming deep & tech house artist James Cole (All I Want, Gruuv) he put the groove to the center of his version, so the result became a real dancefloor groover.

On Lotus the TSM label bosses Peter and Greg took the opportunity to make yet another great tune in which they mixed their easily recognisable grooves with the original track’s nice melodies.

We have no doubt that all the DJs who love the Deep House genre will find a suitable track for their sets in this release.  Take a listen to the EP and make your own choice.

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, The Martinez Brothers are two of the most consistent and recognizable names in the world of house.  Stevie and Chris continue to push themselves creatively in the studio collaborating with global and Latinx artists such as Rauw Alejandro, Fuego, Rema and Tokischa. 

In 2023, we find The Martinez Brothers in a moment of creative renewal, kicking off an exciting new chapter in their illustrious career. They continue to cast a wide net with their collaborations, stepping into the studio with a new generation of artists like Eliza Rose, Tommy Genesis and Mochakk.  

The brothers are furthering their love affair with Ibiza in their second year residency at Hï Ibiza voted #1 Club in the World, after 10 years as residents at Circoloco, Ibiza. Paying homage to the isle that catapulted them to stardom, it was in Ibiza that they met Riccardo Tisci who brought them in to do the music design for his iconic years at Givenchy (2014-2015). 

Last year, the brothers headlined London’s hottest show of the year at Beams warehouse alongside Skepta, who debuted his first house music DJ set in his hometown.  Alongside this, they played the Met Gala afterparty hosted by Dua Lipa and at LOEWE’s Paula’s Ibiza pop up at the Sheats-Goldstein home in LA. 

In 2023 stage hosts include Kappa Futur Festival in Turin, Italy, Panorama Festival in Southern Italy, Eastern Electrics, London, Fabrik, Madrid, Audio Obscura at Amsterdam Dance Event and III Points Festival, Miami. 

The duo are avid sneaker collectors and vinyl record collectors, from all eras of Latin salsa, disco, funk, soul, jazz house and techno.
