"Like most of the artists featured on BKIND Music, I have also come to realise that roughly 90% of the tracks in my library are produced by men, which was a bit of a sad realisation. I attempted to exclusively include tracks produced by women, but I encountered some challenges as there were too many gaps to fill and there weren't enough tracks to fit the right key signature, bpm, and mood, making it difficult to curate a cohesive selection. Expressing my sound was a bit of a struggle without resorting to tracks produced by men to fill those gaps, and I've come to realise melodic techno in particular desperately needs more female producers. This podcast has been a huge eye opener, and I genuinely hope more women start to explore electronic music through production and contribute to a more balanced gender representation in the industry."

Nadine B is a Lebanese-Australian DJ and electronic music producer who blends hypnotic, evocative, deep, dark, melodic, and progressive elements with the occasional tribal and ethnic influences delivering highly emotional and cathartic sets and bringing you love, ecstasy, and intensity on the dance floor. Beginning her music career in Beirut and later moving to Sydney in 2020, she found her footing in the Australian electronic music scene, sharing the stage with local legends as well as international artists. In early 2022, she co-founded Templum with the intention of creating an inclusive and transformative electronic music experience, bringing people from all walks of life together into a "sacred dancing space" to come together, set aside their differences and connect with the music, allowing themselves to feel and escape. In 2023, she elevated her music career by venturing into music production and has since released some original tracks that can be found on most major platforms.

All the online streaming services play music back at roughly -14 LUFS, so that’s the level we should aim for when we’re mastering, right ? Wrong.

That may sound strange, given how much we’ve talked about online loudness over the years - but we’re serious.
