Few Italian reggae band do not need being introduced when they go abroad, but definitely Mellow Mood are one of them. But back in 2009, when they did need a business card, when the young band hailing from Pordenone was not one of the rising names on the Italian and international scene, before any video, contest, radio broadcast, Mellow Mood released an album they entitled “Move!”. Produced by Paolo Baldini, who later was to become the man behind their distinct sound esthetics, “Move!” was meant to be the first step, the first move. Released without label, distributor or press agency, the record was undoubtably successful. Two singles, “Only You” and “Dance Inna Babylon”, scoring together more than ten million views on Youtube, live shows so powerful that the Rototom Sunsplash awards the band best Italian and third best European reggae act. Now that Mellow Mood are working on their third album, “Move!” was remastered and is now released in the “Arriva La Tempesta” collection.

Hey everyone, let me tell you about this song I just wrote—it's called ረጅሙ መንገድ (Rejim Meniged), which means "The Long Road" in English.

This is a love song, but not the easy, sweet kind. It's about that deep, almost impossible kind of love—the one where a man goes through absolute hell just to reach the woman he loves. The whole journey is called "the long road," and it's a metaphor for all the pain, struggle, darkness, and suffering he has to crawl through to finally get to her arms.

He crosses mountains of trouble, fights through fire and darkness, even passes through what feels like the gates of hell itself—all driven by his love for her. Rain, wind, loneliness, heartbreak... everything tries to stop him, but her love becomes his only strength, the force that keeps pushing him forward.

And when he finally makes it? When he collapses into her arms, broken and exhausted? That's where he finds peace. All the suffering disappears. The long, brutal road ends right there—in her embrace. 

She's his light in the darkness, his rest after the storm.It's a song about sacrifice, endurance, and the kind of love that's worth crawling through hell for.

The Italian reggae band Mellow Mood formed in 2005. Over the past few years, they gained widespread recognition and became one of the most important acts of the European reggae scene.  They performed at some of the most important music festivals worldwide, such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Eurockéennes (France), California Roots (USA) e Jamming Festival (Colombia). Since 2015, they run the independent record label La Tempesta Dub.
