Intro

I had an online friendship with Drew Keys. We would talk from time to time, share our experiences in the reggae industry and make jokes. His spirit felt gentle and kind. We were both Akae Beka fans and we started reasoning about doing some King Alpha remixes of his work with Vaughn. Alpha reviewed the vocals that Drew had, and we picked 3 that suited his style. Drew was serious about the work, we ended up with 2-3 versions of each project because he wanted a certain vibe. Finally, Drew was satisfied, and we had 3 approved projects. We didn’t even get to talk about release plans as Drew transitioned unexpectedly. But the works must continue. Here is the first of those 3 projects.

The Italian reggae band Mellow Mood formed in 2005. Over the past few years, they gained widespread recognition and became one of the most important acts of the European reggae scene.  They performed at some of the most important music festivals worldwide, such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Eurockéennes (France), California Roots (USA) e Jamming Festival (Colombia). Since 2015, they run the independent record label La Tempesta Dub.
