This tune is about the human condition of 'obsession' which can afflict us all from time to time, and the way it can distort our view and perception of reality. I don't think it is necessarily a negative emotion, as long as it is reigned in, and remains 'a healthy obsession' !

‘Pure’ is the sixth track to be released by The Mexican Embassy - solo artist Steve Bevan - this year (2020) and is a fusion of a hard hitting dance beat / synth / guitar with a simple catchy synth melody over the drum track and a male vocal. The structure is relatively simple, the genre being pretty much dance / electronic with elements of retro beats ... it’s been made to dance to !

The Mexican Embassy has existed as a musical entity since the late eighties. Presently based in Cheltenham in the UK, The Mexican Embassy is the name used by the solo artist Steve Bevan, one of the original members of the band.
"Music is my life blood : I love listening to it and creating it. If people enjoy listening to the music I have been lucky enough to create then that's a good thing. It will undoubtedly be boxed up as one genre or another, but the end result has been influenced by so many musicians and bands of different genres that I let it speak for itself !"
