We were introduced to @franklanmusic in 2020, being one of the few silver linings that year had in store for us, and we've been working with them to help get this EP crafted since then! "I started writing the lyrics to Context about 4 years ago. At the time, I was convinced that I knew what I was trying to say, but somehow it never felt finished. Over time, after countless de- and re-constructions, it slowly morphed from a song mostly about someone else to a song mostly about myself, and finally was resolved when I came to understand what it was REALLY about.

Let's Talk (feat. Josh Dally)

There is a Japanese term: Mono no aware. It means basically, the sad beauty of seeing time pass - the aching awareness of impermanence. These are the days that we will return to one day in the future only in memories. How do we capture them? How could we possibly be able to fully appreciate them in the present? This project is our attempt to put time under glass.

The Midnight is a marriage between a songwriter from the Deep South and a producer from Denmark who both live in Los Angeles. This is our love song to our city and a testament to the weight these years can hold.
