Born at the end of the 60s and rocked by psychedelic music throughout his childhood, he went to punk then to new wave, post-punk, cold-wave, industrial & new beat until his departure for London where he discovered Acid-House & Techno music and the first raves at the end of the 80s. 

DJing in the early '90s when he arrived in Toulouse (FR). Resident in various clubs and pubs in the pink city, he played here and there in France and in Europe. 

Pissed off not finding the records they liked, he and his partner; Daphné, created Jellyfish Records, an international vinyl record distribution company, and record shop. During all these years, they met and worked with the cream of American and European underground electronic music producers. They stopped everything when illegal downloading arrived and killed the vinyl record market in the early 2000s.

He returned to his first love of psychedelic rock while listening to electronic music, until some time ago - Deciding to go back behind the decks, catching up with new music with yesterday's influences, integrating guitar riffs and with a rock, trance and trippy sound... After all these years emersed in music his influences are therefore as rich as they are varied. 

There is no music without melodies, no melodies without harmonies and they are the ones that give goosebumps when played at the right time.

Sirens Podcast 023: Rigopolar

Rigopolar is a Mexican electronic music producer celebrated for his unique blend of analog synths, arpeggios, and cosmic imagery, crafting an immersive auditory experience that prompts deep reflections on existence and the universe. Born and raised in Ensenada, Baja California, Rigopolar moved to Mexico City at 22, where he refined his craft for 13 years before moving to LA, New York, and ultimately settling in Miami.

His music weaves together the sounds of italo disco and techno with analog storytelling, leading listeners on a mental odyssey through time and space. This distinctive style has enthralled audiences and led to performances at various clubs and festivals worldwide. 

In 2022, Rigopolar launched his label 'Tour de Infinite,' debuting with the "Inversus Totalis EP," and followed by the "Situs EP" in 2023. His original productions and remixes have received support from notable artists such as Solomun, WhoMadeWho, Maceo Plex, Hernan Cattaneo, Be Svendsen, Thomas Koch (DJ T), Skatebard, Doctor Dru, Terr, Curses, and Massimiliano Pagliara, significantly impacting dancefloors around the globe.

Pt.11-Music_To_Listen_To_Music_To-Douglas_Greed

Remake of a gig at "My Birthday Burn" 31st of October 2025

Original inspired by a set I prepared in September for the afterparty to the Borealis psychedelic science summit. I wanted to tap back into the trippy sounds from early 2000's trance music, while keeping the BPM in the 120-125 range. Artists like Frank Beckers (Frankey & Sandrino and D-Nox & Beckers) does exactly this by mixing analogue synthesizers with modern digital production chains and a pumping swingy house-groove that really drives it home. And played on the lovely sound-system built by Simon & Frida it's just takes you up, down and twists you sideways 

Also selected some dutch trippy stuff from Precursor, and Joep Mencke, and the 2025 release of  Steve Bug's Unfussy... and as always, I threw in some oldies, like the 1990 bootleg of Depeche mode "World in My Eyes - Safar Mix", and a super-swingy remix of the ohrwurm "Bamboleo", combined with a remix of Radioheads "Everything in it's right place".

Techstil - My Birthday Burn

I was asked to play at my friends' 'Endless Summer' house party the other week. The brief was classic house, lots of vocals. The result is a smashed together smorgasbord of divas and hi hats with some sketchy mixing thanks to assorted beers/shots/toilet trips. Requests were given all night, and met, and this is the abridged version of the night. Classics mixes are really not my usual thing at all, but was fun nonetheless.
