A lover of all art forms, Paulina Rodriguez aka Paurro naturally fell into the embrace of house and techno music after her first visit to London’s Fabric night club. Born in Mexico, she found another home in the dance community which gave her a platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and to elevate other artists’ works, with a big focus on those from her own home country. Ranging from deep and minimal to uplifting and melodic sounds, often grazing 90s house and disco, her true aim is to curate a feeling of true freedom through song and dance. Over the last 7 years she has played all over Mexico, LA, Detroit, Bogotá, and NYC in renowned clubs like Output and Elsewhere, and currently hosts a radio show at 8 Ball Radio.

THEMMIX007: Paurro

Producer and DJ Jonathan M. Vazquez, better known as Not Enough Soul, is currently based in Washington DC but spent his childhood traveling and living in several cities across the United States. His music pays homage to the many different sounds and vibrations he certainly picked up along the way. You may have caught N.E.S. performing in several venues like Flash (DC), The Jungle Room (RVA), DC9 and Wild Days (DC). Not Enough Soul’s sets deliver techno and electro raw fusions and truly “gutter” tracks. With a monthly residency at DC’s Eaton Radio (The Barracks), N.E.S. and his team established Barracks Records to allow the public a chance to go on a true dimensional voyage into a blend of raw and trance-inducing electronic music.

THEMMIX009: Not Enough Soul

Her home in Lisbon, Portugal was the beginning of DANYKAS DJ music journey. Her parents were not only her mentors in life, but they were above anything else her mentors in music, sounds and vibrations. Her father and mother were both walking and breathing musical encyclopedias with a vast knowledge of Latin, African, Arabic and Portuguese music. Her tools were clearly provided early and resulted in a sound with a bold and distinctive personal signature that combines Tech House, Afro House, House Music, and many other rhythms that know no borders or limits.

Self-described as a wallflower, DANYKAS DJ launched her first EP “Dina De Brava” in May 2020 – composed by two tracks “Dina De Brava” and “Morna” – an homage to her vivacious and energetic mother, Dina.

DANYKAS DJ is currently living between Portugal and the UK. She has her own monthly radio program “DANYKAS DJ JOY TIME” at Rádio Quântica in Lisbon, Portugal and she is also the Label Manager at Seres Produções based in Luanda, Angola.

THEMMIX010: DANYKAS DJ

Sami has been a DJ for the last two decades, throwing parties, releasing records, and building a community in Washington DC. He was pivotal in creating the underground event space Subterranean A, and co-founded the DC mega party ROAM. Alongside Joyce Lim and Dawit Eklund, he founded the label 1432 R and has produced music for Future Times, World Building, Rhythm Section, and Ghostly International. Additionally, he has created for Dreamcastmoe and jammed with the Lifted crew.

In addition to his music career, Sami is a journalist and Executive Producer of the largest afternoon news broadcast in radio, All Things Considered. He has received multiple awards for his work, including a Peabody, a Murrow, a World Press Photo Award, and a National Press Club Award. Among his accomplishments, Sami created a show with legendary DJs Stretch and Bobbito, served as editor of NPR's podcast about race, Code Switch, and covered elections, epidemics, insurrections, and music.

Sami's zeal for life and the people he encounters is boundless, fueling him in his pursuit of the perfect flute, hunting down an extra Marantz battery, or summoning the energy to create beats after a long workweek filled with storytelling. His love for music and his career are perfectly in sync, as he effortlessly balances them both. His latest record, Elevate, is a true testament to his musical prowess, featuring four tracks that pulse with energy and vitality. The tracks seamlessly blend elements of house and techno, all held together by an ever-evolving common thread.

THEMMIX011: Sami

Atilla and Szilard came together at a rooftop party in Budapest with a shared passion for exploring diverse music genres, and thus, Pleasure Voyage was born in 2018. Their music selections aim to uncover hidden gems, ranging from Balearic house to Afro-funk, deep disco to Italo, and back.

Recently, they released their latest album, AZZURRO, through the renowned Italian record label Quattro Bambole Music. The album is conceptualized as a week-long vacation in Italy, taking listeners on a harmonious journey from jazzy, slower sessions to an italo-jazzy-house oner, 'Summer Voyage' featuring Done.

Meet Museum Level, a Philadelphia-based DJ and producer who draws inspiration from the legendary chemist Alexander Shulgin. Their music is filled with psychedelic mystery, wonder, and freedom - a true embodiment of creativity. Their talent has been recognized by big names in the industry, such as Tim Sweeney and Horse Meat Disco, after the release of their first album "New Age Cult" on Whiskey Pickle in 2020. The following year, they released "Myst Takes", featuring a remix from The Juan Maclean, on Days Of Being Wild. Born and raised in the DMV area, Sam Park (fka Samantha Francesca) is no stranger to the DC underground. As a founding member of the esteemed Sticky Fingers Collective, she cut her teeth throwing acclaimed all-night raves and daytime hangs all across the DMV. More recently, Sam has continued her DIY event curation through Extended Play — a joyful Sunday afternoon collaboration with Martín Miguel. Sam’s DJ sets blur between deep house, breaks, electro, and disco aesthetics. Her production has followed suit in showcasing this versatility. Sam’s rising discography includes a contribution to the soundtrack for the documentary 'Karachi At Night' and will soon boast her first full release on DC’s Real Feel Records later this spring.
