Welcome to another interview in the Influential Leaders of Voice series. We go a little off piste with this podcast to bring you several conversations - rather than just the one. 

Why? Well we wanted to share the L'amplifer microphone story from the perspective of the singer and vocal coach so that you could appreciate how a manufacturer's product is used in practice and some of the tips and advice that help vocalists learn from to grow their own vocal capabilities.

The Influential Leaders of Voice Interview - Gary Osborne Talks About Vocal Compression Made Easy

Welcome to another interview in the Influential Leaders of Voice series at The Modern Vocalist. My guest this time around is none other than John Henny.

John came to Speech Level Singing when, as a professional musician, he was having difficulty singing night after night.  This led John to Eric Futterer, a protege of Seth Riggs', who has worked with many name acts including Mandy Moore.  

After studying with Eric for ten years John began teaching (and quickly found he had a gift for it).  He then began lessons with Seth himself and started the training process to become a Speech Level Singing instructor. 

John is a "teacher's teacher" and is one of a very select group authorised to train other teachers. He has taught around he world and most recently been a guest teachers at USC and Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

John has studied the Speech Level Singing Technique for over 20 years.  His ability to break down complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand ideas and exercises has enabled him to get exceptional results from his students, especially those who are absolute beginners, or feel that they have vocal problems they can never fix.

This is a very special interview with Dr Ingo Titze who is truly an influential leader of voice. He is the world's leading expert on the science of the voice having combined his background in science with his passion for music to create a completely new field of science called vocology.  

Dr Titze found time in his hectic schedule to share with us his knowledge and expertise on the science of how the voice works. It truly is a privilege to get half an hour of his valuable time to spend with us here at The Modern Vocalist. He is Executive Director at the National Centre for Voice and Speech in Denver and maintains a hectic schedule of teaching, research and sharing his expertise at conferences around the world.
