The Mono Jacks are four-piece hailing from Romania. Their visceral, indie-inflected wall of sound brings to mind Interpol, Editors or The National. Based in Bucharest, The Mono Jacks exploded onto the Romanian music scene few years ago with exciting and intense live performances, which defied expectations, grabbed the imagination of fans and critics alike, and made them one of the most acclaimed new Romanian acts.
 
Their seductive and incendiary post-rock rhythms carry traces of ‘90s alternative and the band's contagious live chemistry makes for some of the best gigs in Romania today. Not to mention that a few of the band’s songs topped local alternative charts.

Known for their energetic performances and contagious live chemistry, the 4-piece took to the stages of most local festivals, as well as the likes of EXIT (RS), Sziget (HU) and Eurosonic (NL) and they shared the local venues with the likes of Suede, The Cranberries or No Age. The Mono Jacks revine pe scena muzicală, după o pauză de 1 an jumate. In timpul ăsta am legat noi prietenii si am tocit mocheta in trei sali de repetitii. Responsabili de toate astea suntem: Doru Trăscău (voce, chitară), Alex 'Grim' Tomescu (bass), Dragoș Strat (chitară), Mihai Popescu (tobe).

"Cele mai bune cantece sunt cele scrise din ce am trait, din ce-am simtit; și la bucurie și la nervi. Poti sa le spui amintiri, sau emotii, sau obsesii personale, pentru noi cutia asta in care le-am pastrat a tot crescut in timp, ca o colectie.
Fiecare din noi a tot adunat franturi si inceputuri de piese iar cand ne-am unit in formula noua si colectiile noastre s-au unit. Cu mesaje trimise si mai ales netrimise, drumuri grele, zboruri de unul singur, aeroporturi goale sau pline, nunti de neuitat, altele la care doar s-a visat. Punem pe tava tot."

In mid 2010 they completed the recording of their debut LP which was self produced. This first outing includes ‘Maria’, the first single, future disco monolith ’Push The Pedal’ or ‘Come Back Girl’, a track that flirts with melancholy and despair.
