October is here and it's time for another unusual instrument from The Monthly Sample. Now presenting, The Cat Toy. It's made of wood and wrapped with sisal rope. This instrument has some great textures. Scratching sounds at slow, medium and fast rates. It has a wooden ball that rolls within its wooden track. Where else will you find sound samples like these?! Along with the Toy's unique sounds, we've also included drum-like samples as well. We had a lot of fun recording this instrument and we think you're going to love it.

It belongs to our photo department and holds the very camera that took this picture! The moment we set eyes on this case, it was love at first site. It's made of a polypropylene copolymer material and has all your favorite drum-like qualities. It's December and it's cold outside! Doesn't life in our temperature controlled studio sound oh so nice and warm? It's times like these that make you want to curl up next to some nice microphones, preamps and our new instrument, The Book. The cardboard and thick paper made for so many unique and textured tones. We captured all the drum-like qualities and we're really excited about the sounds of paper. This is definitely a great sample pack for someone looking for inspiration!
