Jeremy Harris started Adventure Hippies as sort of a dare in 2009. He didn't have enough money to fly from France to West Virginia for Voice of the Valley, so he asked all his friends to donate $2. In his words, "imagine that youre buying me a cup of coffee but instead you get to huff gasoline with me in the woods..!"

Anyone who donated was paired up with another similarly generous soul to collaborate for a future release. "everyone who donates gets a prize: their name added to the adventure hippies list.. a series of 12 inch lp collaboration compilations released in a private and limited edition of 100 per copy." 

I was initially paired with Jack Gilbert but he never wrote back to either Jeremy or myself so Jeremy re-paired me with Vanessa Harris of Coughs/ Learned Helplessness/ rrind, which proved to be much more fruitful. 

Vanessa mailed me tapes, I remixed them and emailed the finished track to Jeremy who later said we were the only Adventure Hippies to do so. Ta da!
