The shortest "song" I ever wrote, about the inability to write an actual song. So it's more of a sung reflection on songwriting struggles really than a song, but there you go! :)

Lyrics:

It’s the only way I know
I’m tortured by my own devices
As I watch frustration grow
Sleep deprivation is the price 
As inspiration fails to show
While I can’t move my weary eyes

No Song Without A Crisis (demo)

The song is built on a catchy riff, originally conceived a few years ago, which immediately struck me as a perfect chorus for a metal tune and platform for soloing. It was melodic yet aggressive, and kept playing in my head for 7 years until I decided to crystallise it into Spare Soul - a reminder to give myself a second chance and become a better version of me.
