Cold from the season, wind from the sea
Cold wind from every direction at me
Atop this mountain all that I can see
Is deep water and swells breaking all through the reef

It rained today before I came outside
Leaving puddles and drips from the rooftops
And wide long clouds in the sky
Covering every sign of life outside town, the whole world seemed to hide

Traveling's left me with just one belief
No matter where you go, everyone from there is trying to leave
But one thing was true
I was looking forward to winter with you

Deep in the thoughts I've tried not to think
Is a crippling truth causing me to sink
As I realized the time that wasted beneath
While our eyes focused on what is yet to be

Oh I've tried going back
But I can't line up the space
It's like tracing half a picture

Although now, I see through

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't disagree
With the idea that I've abandoned how I subconsciously thought it would be
