Malika Muhammad, founder of TheIndustryBlogger.com, is a thriving blogger on the mission to improve the state of underground music. The site was first introduced to the DMV in July of 2013 as a medium for artists to push their music, events, and projects. Muhammad interviewed several top DMV artists,including Starrz, Kingpen Slim, and DJ Watty Jay.

   Her strong interest in music-specifically hip-hop is portrayed in her articles that focus on the deeper and more serious side to rap music. When logging on fans can expect to see the latest music releases along with intimate interviews of their favorite underground artists. Prior to the establishment of TheIndustryBlogger.com, Malika served as a social media intern for Aiden Marketing and journalist for her school’s newspaper at the time. She uses these skills to enhance the image of underground artists and set herself apart from other bloggers.

   Driven by the need to elevate her community, Malika strives to unite gifted artists, small businesses and dreamers through music, events, issue coverage and journalism. The site has grown in numbers and exposure over the past year and will continue to grow as the clock keeps ticking. In May of 2015 Malika Muhammad will graduate with her B.A. in Communication Studies at Towson University.
