ABOUT| Originally recorded for Sojourn's The Dark Room (Illect Recordings, Nov. '20), "Mirror Monologues" gets this 2022 re-make featuring Canadian producer's, Newselph, official stamp. A completely introspective vibe—hence, "mirror,"—this new take on the track provides a more jazzhop-style groove, matching perfectly with Sojourn's flow and intended vibe. Like the original, you still get the sense that the emcee is literally looking himself in the mirror as the stream of consciousness flows forth. SHORT BIO |  Tres Hodgens—a.k.a. Sojourn, his hip hop moniker—is an emcee, producer and all-around live performer. He has produced tracks recorded & verses for other artists including Braille, Ohmega Watts, Theory Hazit, Blame One, Ras Kass and Myka 9 of Freestyle Fellowship. In addition, Hodgens is also a professional drummer. With inspirations ranging from the likes of Mos Def, Deepspace5, Shad and Rel McCoy, Canadian producer Newselph is one of Illect Recordings' latest roster signees.
