Drum & Bass duo Dogger & Mindstate announce their concept EP 'Different Roads', which is due to be released on Amsterdam-based boutique label The North Quarter on September 24th. First linking on the skateboarding circuit, Dogger & Mindstate have become a household name in the Drum & Bass scene with a reputation for soulful, vocal lead tracks. 

On 'Different Roads' the duo draws heavily on their roots in the UK's North and South respectively, where they spent their youths listening to Hip Hop. On board are two leading rappers in their respective cities – Verbz in London and Sleazy F Baby in Manchester - to represent the North and South. Different Roads is an ode to two past lives connected over a mutual love for skateboarding and music.

This year sees the 16th birthday of Intrigue, and with it the release of a brand new album titled ‘Intrigue 16’, to celebrate 16 years of the club night. The album consists of 16 new and unlreleased tracks from new stars and established names alike. It will be released as 4 EPs, from February to May this year.

The Nomad bio 2023

After a quarter century of pushing boundaries and frequencies Daimon Schwalger, aka The Nomad, firmly fits the bill as a pioneer of the electronica music scene in Aotearoa New Zealand. Since his first album release ‘Movement’ in 1998, he has gone on to release nine full length albums, remix albums and various singles while working with some of music’s leading talents.

“The nomadic traveller working on beats all day” has compiled an impressive body of work, which features collaborations with many different artists and musicians from New Zealand, Australia, UK and Jamaica.
Artists include Barnaby Weir (Black Seeds), MC Antsman (The Nomad/Rhombus), Tehimana Kerr (Fat Freddy’s Drop), Pearl Runga, Tiki Taane, Opiuo, King Kapisi, Farda P (Rockers HiFi), Luciano, Lisa Tomlins, Oakley Grenell (O.G.), Pepsi (Wham), Ras Stone, Tim Budgen (WarpTV) and many more.

Nomadic by name and nature, The Nomad has clocked up the miles from the early days in Dunedin
and Christchurch, featuring at the infamous The Gathering festivals, maturing as a musician and father, through to his more recent success as a videographer based in Westport, capturing the beauty of Aotearoa’s West Coast. This is all part of the rich textures that make The Nomad a unique ‘life form’.
