Just A Beat

Luca LeBleu returns to Jack Said What with a zippy, infectious house missive. 

The youngster has once again enlisted the help of the legendary MC G.L.O.B.E. from ‘80s hip-hop/electro pioneers the Soul Sonic Force, who previously guested on Luca’s debut single for Jack Said What, ’Save The Planet’. G.L.O.B.E. features in more of a conversational, spoken word fashion here, compared to the rap on ‘Save The Planet’, but the track isn’t any less vital.

Slippy-slidey Swag-style beats, a burbling bassline and electronic synth stabs all offset G.L.O.B.E.’s vox sweetly, making for a house track that will appeal to the straight up house brigade as well as the bass house and tech-house crews. 

On remix duties is none other than UK garage ledge Zed Bias. Zed accentuates the skippy beats and foregrounds the oompa-loompa bass for an expert speed garage missive that’s already feeding into the new wave of UKG currently sweeping the nation. It’s a coup to get Zed on board - and his mix doesn’t disappoint.

So happy to share this live recording of my set at Envision 2024 from the deep jungle of Costa Rica. Operation Love Life is definitely in full swing.

It was an honour to stand on the iconic Lapa stage, tickle its amazing sound system and groove to one for most electric dance floors in the world. 

Envision will always hold a special place in my heart. The humans it attracts and the values it stands on are in full alignment with who I am an artists and more importantly a person.

As a fan, I loved sticking around to shimmy shake to many other incredible sets all weekend. Sticking my feet on dance floors and locking in is really important part to gather as much inspiration from other as possible. Making space to shut off my brain and just enjoy others do their thing. My highlights of the week were Paso Doble, Maga, Drisss Skali, Parallelle & Chaim.

This sonic ride is my funky twist on the raw energy that these grounds evoke. Some unreleased thunder hiding in the cracks of this one.

Massive props to everyone who put this gathering together, I offer this set a token of my appreciation to your work. Otter if you read this, special thanks for how you held down Lapa all week. Of course deep respect for brother Driss for getting me out there.

Also blessed I got to share this moment with the home town homies Papa Tosh & Hunks / Unks, love you both.

Casper van Zeelt aka vonZills is besides a professional dutch filmeditor, also a deep-house producer. His love and passion for the genre grew through the years through influences from names like Marsh, Above and Beyond, Trilucid and Lutrell. Despite the fact that deep-house is his genre of choice, Vonzills sometimes veers towards the harder styles as well. With releases like "Concentrate" and "Momentum", vonZills has a broad taste in electronic dance music, with each track providing a unique soundscape. VonZills started writing Zion in the run-up to his trip to the US. After returning from the trip through the Zion National Park, he finished the track full of inspiration. Zion is a beautiful place without prejudices. A place far from all the misery in the world. A place where you can immerse yourself in nature, a place where you can find new things about yourself. In The Shimmer Of The Mountains is almost like the counterpart of Zion. The ancient mountains have been there long before us, and will be there long after us. Somethings are bigger than life. That eerie feeling of us being here just a small fraction of time, can make the same beautiful mountains feel suddenly a bit more dark. Make the most of the time you have, take care of each other, take care of nature. We’re guests on our own planet, roaming, in the shimmer of the mountains.
