Andrea Di Giampietro was born in 1982 in Pescara, a small town in central Italy. At the age of seven years he expressed the desire to his parents to get to play in a football team, which, however, was denied, seeing that he was suffering from his birth of an acute form of asthma, which will was healed in adolescence. Shortly after an aunt gave him an old Farfisa electric organ. Calcium completely vanished from his mind and from that moment a musical curiosity appeared that accompanied him throughout his life.

The first music lessons were taught by a musician who was not properly prepared, simply starting the basic rudiments of music. Despite of everything, Andrea was with his new arranger, already able to entertain a live audience at the age of ten, ranging from various kinds of songs to traditional music and dance. Very soon the music becomes a profession.

In adolescence, the desire to learn is felt more strongly and he prefers the private studies to the monothematic programs of the Italian conservatory. After several failed attempts to find the right teacher in 1998, he gets in touch with Antonio Matarazzo who becomes his musical father:. With him he studies piano techniques, classical music, modern music and modern singing techniques. In addition to this being a great musician and teacher, Matarazzo, which is a charismatic man with great life experience transmits the boy the sense of being an artist and making art.

In 2000 he graduates as an electronics technician, and this experience gives him the knowledge and curiosity that will lead over time to achieve a 'good knowledge of the world of synthesizers and music technologies. As a keyboardist and programmer he works with many local bands, addressing a variety of musical genres.

At the age of twenty one he falls in love with jazz and alongside the studies, he undertakes a course of specialization under the guidance of African American pianist and teacher Marco Di Battista. In the four years of training, from 2002 to 2006, he learns the techniques of piano, composition and performance practice of jazz. He participates in various jazz festivals in central Italy as a leader of its projects both as a session-man.

Meanwhile, from 2003 to 2005, he also privately studies classical music and piano techniques in greater depth with Peppa Padovano.

It's time to expand and capitalize all the knowledge acquired over the years, and in 2006 he enrolles in the faculty of "Popular Music" at the "Conservatory of Music Luisa D'Annunzio" in Pescara, graduating in the first and second level with the highest marks and degree.

In 2007, he gets to meet the Master Michele Epifani, a fundamental and crucial meeting for its formation. Under the guidance of Epifani, a musician of immense musical culture, he elaborates the fundamental principles of composition, and music systems, becoming more aware of art.


Musical idea

The 'primary instinct, is curiosity. The natural approach is the 'improvisation. The necessary is the study which is consistently supported by the experience. 
The result is an eclectic musician, which draws material from unscrupulously all kinds or music systems to his capacity.
