What kind of name is Joeypresents and who the hell is this character anyway? Well…whoever he is and wherever he's from, Mr. Joeypresents is officially the WINNER of the "Don't Think" remix contest. Choosing a winner was not easy for us. There were over 70 remix entries and many of them were strong contenders for the #1 spot. After much deliberation, No Bird Sing and Sage Francis decided that Joeypresents' overall composition, mix and musicality earned him the blue ribbon. There are many honorable mentions to be sure, but a special shout out goes to Dilly Dilly as she was the only producer who made it into everyone's "top 3" list. What ultimately kept Dilly away from the top slot may have been the sound/EQ of the mix, but what we most enjoy about it is the original vocals she added to the project. There were in fact a few people who probably could have probably won this contest with a better overall mix. We can't be too nit-picky as we understand there was a relatively short amount of time for people to bang this remix out, but having a better EQ and overall mix should be kept in mind for future contests.  

In addition to the official SFR winner, we had announced that the person who receives the most votes at www.tinyurl.com/DontThinkRemixContest would win the "popular vote" trophy. That honor goes to Moxe of Spain who not only put an electro/danceclub twist to the song but must have put on a hell of a campaign as he got more than double the votes of anyone else. Joeypresents didn't receive a single public vote, which I find interesting to note. Haha. Funny how that works out. Alas, big ups to Moxe for being able to rally so many fans. 

Lastly, we want to reiterate how agonizing this whole process. There's a ton of talent out there, people from many different states and countries who deserve recognition for their work, so we're going to leave these remixes up unless it is requested by the producer to take them down. Additionally, feel free to put the music up on your own youtube and soundcloud pages. Thank you all for helping us lose sleep this weekend.

In 1999 B. Dolan moved from Rhode Island to NYC to pursue his passion. He had been writing and rapping for years, but Brooklyn’s Nuyorican Poets Cafe introduced him to spoken word which is when his career as a stage performer began. Finding himself on hard times he slept on park benches and subway trains before scoring a job as a doorman at a building that happened to be in close proximity to the Twin Towers. Just as he began piecing his life together the 9/11 attacks happened, leaving him in a paranoid mental state which ultimately resulted in his self-imposed exile from the birthplace of hiphop.

The move back to RI in 2002 proved to be a wise one for Dolan. Over the next few years he tapped into the local arts community, volunteered for at-risk youth programs, created the consumer activist website Knowmore.org, teamed up with Sage Francis, signed to Strange Famous Records and toured relentlessly.

In 2008 he released "The Failure" LP as well as the "Live Evel" vinyl EP.
In 2009 he released "The House of Bees, Vol 1" mixtape.
in 2010 he released the "Fallen House, Sunken City" LP.

The Off Daze is a Kentucky based group consisting of Deacon the Villain & Natti from Cunninlynguists and longtime friend and collaborator Sheisty Khrist. At the end of July 2018, The Off Daze made their debut releasing the single “Twisted Love Song” announcing their work as a group and that an album would be coming soon. Not even three weeks later The Off Daze would release their debut album “Couple’s Skate”. The group defines their sound as “some intergalactic skating rink meets strip club date night music”. The media took onto “Couple’s Skate” immediately with physical editions selling out just as fast. The album would pick up coverage from HipHopDX, 2DopeBoyz, Austrailian platform The Music and more. “Couple’s Skate” would also go on to be one of Bandcamp’s Best Hip-Hop Releases for August 2018. After the accolades and celebration of “Couple’s Skate” some thought this collaboration would be a one-time psychedelic adventure. However, The Off Daze don’t plan on releasing a sophomore album in the conventional sense, instead the trio will release singles as they please. The Off Daze isn't just the "Couple's Skate" sound. “That was just a snapshot in time...For the future, we're just going to follow whatever vibe hits us then press go.”
