‘Eclipse’ is a dark melodic techno track infused with Spanish Flamenco guitar. An interesting combination some might say - well let me tell you why.. 👀

I’ve always been fascinated by Spanish guitar because my mother used to play it very well. Unfortunately, she died when I was very small, and so I never got to hear her play 🥺

Her guitar used to sit in one of the rooms in my house collecting dust. I’d often go look at it, as it is probably the only thing I have to remember her by.
I then start learning to play the guitar myself, but I was focused mostly on playing rock and metal (so much angst) on an electric guitar and got to a pretty high level on it

One day I decided to give the flamenco style a try and picked up my mother’s guitar and started strumming away. I was hooked… 💪
I began to learn more about the style, strumming, and harmonies and found that both styles were very closely linked to the metal I was used to playing (ie. all mostly written in the Phrygian mode) 👌

Now a lot of my productions incorporate flamenco in some way or another, either the instrumentation or harmonies themselves 💃

Anyway, that’s the story behind the track - it’s about how even when the times appear dark there’s always some light at the end of the tunnel 🌙

Originally released back in 2020, Warp Speed shook the world with two songs that contained the outstanding talent of the British music producer Marksman, who is known for making melodic techno that progresses gradually until a point of pure ecstasy and for taking his listeners to a brilliantly executed climax after an amazingly built structural and musical evolution

Now he is back to TLILTIC Records with remastered versions of Warp Speed and Gizmo, making them not only more polished, but giving them a more noticeable sound design and a brighter spatial dimension. With this, both tunes feel renewed somehow, almost like if they were completely unheard before

Also accompanying this release, we have two brand-new remixes. First to do the remix treatment is Godbolo. The Mexican producer and member of TLILTIC turns ‘Warp Speed’ into an afro beat creation that gives the original a fresh coat of paint. Following this remix comes Stranger Souma with her own touch, tuning ‘Gizmo’ into an even livelier song, breaking barriers and reminding us why the Moroccan producer is someone to keep on our radars

About Exoco:

Originally hailing from Barbados and coming of age in Leeds and London, Exoco blends influences from both environments into his music. You can expect laidback, tranquil beats of island life mixed in with hard-hitting synths and industrial tones. For Elevation, you can be sure the dynamism will be shifted towards the latter.

Exoco was musical from a young age - but does it actually matter, because who actually reads these bios - before moving on to house and techno as a teenager. Exoco began as a DJ at university house parties and student nights before becoming the serial button pusher he is today. 

Exoco currently hosts Apollo, a monthly radio show on Bloop London, alongside co-host Marksman. Tune in every third Saturday of the month at 6-8pm GMT.
