In the rap game, if your bars aren’t scorching hot, then they need to stop. Pack up the bags with whatever it is you got because it can’t be the creme of the crop. Luckily for Vallé and John Givez, they are strapped with holsters of metaphors and flows to make anyone realize that when they spit, they need to duck low and realize whatever they are, they are not. On Vallé’s latest single “Prodigy”, the artist truly shows his skills are at the top of his class.

Only so many artists know the meaning and understanding of writing their way out. Vallé, born Enjalas Jenkinson, knows it all too well. After leaving his home of Papua New Guinea for New Zealand with his mother to receive treatment for malaria, Jenkinson has continuously worked for the life he won back from death. Believing his family is the reason for his connection and empathy for others, he uses the stories he’s experienced with them to detail every walk of life he walks on and the journey he chooses to experience. 

His first song to release to the public in 2018, “Love Me”, showcased he was willing and ready to write his heart out and show what he was capable of. Having a style that is a fusion of R&B and hip-hop but melodically pop/radio friendly, Jenkinson shows that his ear and pen for music are equally gifted. Telling people “music got into me”, Jenkinson saw every time music reached out it’s hand to him, he grabbed it and ran with it hand and hand. Drawing from a wide range of influences that include Van Morrison, Bob Marley, and Bob Dylan to just name a few, he brings these influences on the stage where the fire from his life truly comes alive.

On his debut album, CARE FOR ME, Jenkinson combines his influences with his roots to subtly walk his listeners through not only his mind, but his heart as well. Believing time and place is important for every story he wishes to share, Jenkinson released his latest single on April 24, “Trip Advisor”, to give even more of himself and his culture for others to truly understand. The more he learns and grows, his resilience for life, himself, and family as well, he continues to push forward.

While the future might be unclear, Jenkinson sees it as extremely bright with his potential only growing and plans to maximize it to its utmost potential. Thankful for every change he’s had in his life, Jenkinson uses his humble beginnings as a fuel to shoot past all obstacles in front of him. With integrity close to his chest, no matter where he is geographically, Vallé believes his star will shine even in the darkest of times to show he will always be the light.
