Following their debut 'Tokyo' EP, Oxford 5-piece Maiians return with new single 'Sionara' on April 20th. 
Clocking in at just under 7 minutes, the epic track is a masterclass in musical mind control and filmic elegance. Building in pace piece by piece, 'Sionara' teeters on the edge of the storm before soaring up into a haze of post-rock guitar, ground-shaking beats and jagged synths. With musical nods to Four Tet, Holy Fuck and Mogwai, 'Sionara' somehow manages to be both hypnotic and ear-worm immediate all at once.

Since their conception in early 2014, Maiians have been turning heads with their double-drum propelled electronica and arresting live performances. The band are set to play three UK dates this April in support of the single:

April 21st - The Lexington, London

Magdalena Solo Project - Blue Dress

Having kicked off this new series of compilations last year with other label boss Dom Servini’s “Allo Love” selection, Volume Two gives us an insight into his partner’s muscial diet. 

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the man’s own output, the down-tempo and electronica end of things is well covered with lush offerings from Hiatus & Shura, Amenta, Matches and Jesse Futerman. And in places, things get even more horizontal with more acoustic offerings from High Hopes Society and of course the man himself with his acoustic version of album favourite “A Promise Is All It Was”.

Let us not forget, though, that Scrimshire is also a DJ, and a damn fine one at that, and there’s plenty of turntable fodder to be found with Persian’s lovers and jungle mash-up, Twin Cities’ mid-tempo soul stirrer, Skinshape’s take on a Bill Withers classic, and plenty of cuts from the Wah Wah 45s stable including music from Part-time Heroes, Resonators, Paper Tiger, Hackney Colliery Band and LV’s deadly club version of Scrimshire’s “Everything You Say” featuring the Cinematic Orchestra’s Heidi Vogel. And even then there’s time for a couple of exclusives – Easy Access Orchestra’s re-work for Colman Brothers is quite possibly a modern summertime anthem, and new signing Gene Dudley Group get their first ever airing on Wah Wah 45s. Blimey, we’re out of breathe just thinking about it.

Fink - 'See It All'

Fink returns with the second single from his 3rd album of his Ninja Tune Records trilogy, “Sort of Revolution.” 

“See It All,” one of the album’s signature tracks, is blessed with falling piano lines, pulsing electric bass, and a driving rhythm which combines relentless propulsion with sublime subtlety. “Q&A” finds Fink in a deeply soulful and moody a cappella, building a tune from his own vocal parts - layers of harmony buzzing through your ears, as warm and rich as it is clever and hypnotic. Both of these tracks were recently recorded live on Fink’s latest Gilles Peterson Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1, while the LP version of “See It All” has just been confirmed as the opening track on the season premiere on the longstanding and now infamous TV show CSI:NY. 

Remixes come from D*L*I*D (fresh from their stunning remix of Phoenix's "1901" single, this remix is only their second!), Emika (Ninja Tune's latest signing, bringing Berlin heaviness to the table), and Fink’s dub alter-ego, Sideshow (critically lauded and internationally sharing 12's with Martyn, remixing Appleblim, and releasing albums on Aus Music). D*L*I*D channels the spirit of J-Dilla, turning the original into a super-heavy head-nodder. Label-mate Emika turns the original into a dark and brooding epic that builds towards a huge finale – a la Massive Attack with serious skunk-paranoia. Sideshow once again showcases Fink’s production cred with an echo box and compression chamber, skillfully stripping the parts and fitting them together into brand new shapes. 

Fin Greenall, aka Fink, is among the more understated of the world’s ‘singer-songwriters’, relying on uncompromising quality of work and an astounding stage presence, rather than major label marketing budgets. A master lyricist and in-demand songwriter, having most recently co-written with John Legend for Legend’s ‘Evolver’ LP as well as two of Ninja Tune’s latest signings: Andreya Triana and Emika. Currently touring the UK with band mates Guy Whittaker on bass and Tim Thornton on drums, Fink is as hectic as ever with a tour of France throughout October; November spent in China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam; the USA in December; and Australia (including 3 headline evenings at the Sydney Festival) and Japan in January.
