Recorded in their studio in South London, the EP draws from 90s rave culture, with the title track 'I Wanna Love You' featuring acid-inspired bass lines and 909 elements, while bottle action features a hypnotising arpeggiated synth over a stripped back percussion track.

South London's Producer-DJ Theon Bower and genre-melding multi-instrumentalist J Love team up to bring you the third instalment on Swung Out Records in the form of a vintage summer house anthem that will be sure to get people moving. Taking a classic approach to the collaboration, the duo set out to capture the essence of summer with live keys and strings played by J Love over a stomping 4/4 bass line. The track came together over several late night sessions in Theon's South London studio with the 'sessions' giving the word a second meaning. While Theon is jumping on the festival circuit this summer with appearances at Glastonbury, El Dorado, Wild Wood Disco, Westival and more, J Love is cruising the live circuit with a string of recent singles from his 90's psychedelica inspired project 'Common Goldfish'.

Featuring bass, keys and strings recorded live by J Love over a hypnotic sampled hook, the track draws on the roots of house as much as the disco that came before it, underpinned with a modern
drum track that will be sure to get people moving.

Brixton-based Producer/DJ @theonbower is having a busy year. Between launching his own imprint 'Swung Out Records' to showcase his own brand of dusty house and 80s Italo and playing sets at Glasto, Westival and El Dorado, it looks like next year will be much of the same. Keep an eye out for his upcoming parties under both of his event names; Pangaea Disco and Swung Out. He's also the man managing things behind the scenes at the legendary party institution @secretsundaze. 

"Really enjoyed making this mix. Recorded at my studio in Brixton, it's got a bit of everything in it, mostly dance floor focussed covering house, boogie and of course a healthy serving of retro synth sounds, as well as a premiere of the '08 Breakbeat VIP' of my next single titled The Disguise. Mostly new bits in here but have peppered a few favourites and one of my own edits that all invariably make their way into my live sets too. Theon Bower comes through with an hour of italo and disco leaning productions, many influenced by the global disco vibe he’s known for with his label-come-party, Pangaea Disco. While Theon is now playing harder and faster in a club setting, his roots are still firmly planted in the sounds he’s grown to love. After his massive set at El Dorado and Westival in July, Theon has a string of gigs lined up in the capital as well as releases upcoming on his own Swung Out Imprint and The Disco Express amongst others.

REVELATION - FEEL IT (THEON BOWER'S RAW EDIT) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

PDSC #001 is the first of many vinyl-only releases from the Pangaea Disco crew. Out February 18th, only on vinyl.

It features two singles fusing the worlds of electronica and African folk music, ‘Red Skies’ by Takao and ‘Pelicana’ by Theon Bower (Pangaea Disco co-founders and long-term studio collaborators). The tracks are available exclusively on 12” vinyl, lathe cut in the heart of South London.

Takao’s ‘Red Skies’ provides an electronic twist on Congolese folk music with an emotionally charged house track. Perfect for sunsets and sunrises, the production combines male vocal chants, balearic synths and understated shuffley drums, creating a hypnotic groove that is ideal for transitional moments in a set.

On the flip side, Theon Bower’s ‘Pelicana’ brings the producer’s signature lo-fi, bass driven sound into warmer waters with an international twist, sampling closely guarded records and adding a healthy dose of percussion over classic synth leads.
