Veteran drum & bass artist Calyx continues his winning streak for Critical Music with two more masterfully rendered pieces of sonic art.

The clue is in the name on ‘Repercussion’, as the legendary producer keeps things relatively low-key with a frenetic, percussive drum workout that bustles with congas and intricate rhythms.

‘Forever’ takes a heavier, more experimental path; with a slicing, hypnotic kick-snare beat locking Calyx’s trademark twisted mid-bass and foreboding atmospherics into an irresistible groove.

Still can’t believe this actually happened. Playing the main floor at Grelle Forelle was one of the most emotional and surreal moments for me. The energy, the crowd, the atmosphere, everything just clicked and it honestly felt like pure magic from start to finish. This multigenre set was all about bringing together the sounds I love - DnB, UKG, UK Bass, 140, Dubstep, Breakbeat - and feeling the energy bounce back from the dancefloor in the most beautiful way.
 Massive love to the Contrast crew for trusting me with this and making it all happen! And a huge thank you to IMANU for creating space and opportunities for so many artists and for being such a wholesome, inspiring, and genuinely good-hearted person. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, forever grateful for this night and everyone who shared that moment with me <3

I started producing and mixing drum and bass in 2001. Since then, I have had my music played on Radio 1xtra, after winning L Double's monthly cutting room competition with my track, " Love Song " in 2004, and " Magma " played on the Hospital Records podcast back in episode 28 in 2006, as well as having my remix of Cyantific's track "  Power Surge " given a glowing review in issue 87 of Knowledge Magazine in 2007... After enjoying a break from music to start a family I returned to the music where I enjoyed releases with boey audio and blazing haze audio. I then helped launch triplicate audio with long time friends @conradsubs and @j.o.e. fast forward to now triplicate audio has became maad ting and after being lucky enough to have my tracks played weekly on BBC introducing this year (2021) I am finally starting my own label, @greentigerrecords!
