Sakini’s music is quietly captivating; textured and bewitching, with a pervading sense of plaintive serenity. Each release draws from the same sensuous palette while being a world unto itself. Intimately beautiful and always providing room for personal interpretation.

As expected, the mix goes some distance to emulate those enigmatic, daydream qualities. 

“Performance, life, lights is a mix of warped regal ideas, drama and DIY, hierarchy and performance, context and setting.  

Lavish strings, stage ready pianos and ambitious compositions provide a crystalline opening yet after some twists and turns things eventually devolve into rudimentary components, the basics of life and sound, ending with the most primal instruments - the strings plucked from inside a piano, the  voices of town folk and found percussive home sounds.” – Laila Sakini
