After 4 years of rave parties in Lyon, the Spiral Dance crew just gave birth to the Sous Traitance label.

Throughout its first compilation – a strong selection of up-and-coming producers –, the collective gathered 30 minutes of fiery and experimental breakbeat, considerably influenced by the ‘90s wild energy.

Yet, the 6-track Various goes beyond showcasing an obvious inheritance from the UK early-rave era, perfectly embodied by Antoine 80 and Shcuro contributions. The 12” vinyl also blends genres from the past 3 decades - in the true spirit of the current French underground djing style -, as Jonnnah and Penelope’s Fiance both from the contemporary drum n bass scene codes, while DJ 8.6 drops a mid-2010s industrial downtempo burner, and Yolek even sounds to be inspired by the nasty, raw atmospheres of 2000s hip-hop.

The drawings were tainted and magnetic, he was drawn to the paper like the pencil was itself. The shapes and sketches left his mind in chaos, black and white impressions of people and faces from everywhere and anywhere. Sat in a quiet room he looked at the scattered mess and the art which covered his bedroom walls, he wondered whether he might ever leave this room. What was the use when the real world was nowhere near as exciting as his wild and wonderful imagination?

French producer Christian Coiffure is set to release a new EP via Comic Sans Records. The release is described as months of hard work and torment drawing upon influences from UK bass and rave culture. It's unique and distinct, hence finding a nice home amidst the labels catalogue.
