Noise maker Ioannis “Ion” Alexakis was born on the island of Crete and raised in Iowa City. A jack of all trades & a master of none, he began learning guitar from a young age that developed into an interest in samplers, synthesis & sound design with a specific focus in the MPC universe. A lifelong student of the process, Ioannis began studying the signal flow has allowed him to become a chameleon of the industry, working as tradesman behind the scenes. 

As a member of The AWTHNTKTS who gained regional notoriety and opened for the likes of Ghostface Killah, Danny Brown, ASAP Ferg, Killer Mike, Freddie Gibbs, Sage Francis, Mobb Deep and many others, they also played a number of festivals such as Mission Creek & Pygmalion. 

Ion’s music is an inward reflection focusing in on resilience of the worker. Enduring the working class hardships through the Guthrie lens over a sonic guttural rawness that hones in on the prospect of our power as the people to maintain vigilance and hope. As a solo artist he has shared the stage with the artists such as GZA, Blackalicious, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Makaya McCraven, Dessa, Wyclef Jean, DJ Abilities, Ceschi Ramos, Louis Logic, Open Mike Eagle, R.A.P. Ferriera & Black Milk.
