Deep techno

Autumn has arrived in the Northern hemisphere and the long days and nights of summer has faded away. As we enter this season where dancing barefoot in nature once again seems further away we thought we could bring some warm memories from the dancefloors back to the podcast. So for the 22th chapter we've been blessed to have our Oslo based friend Capodanna's amazing set from this year's edition of Modem Festival. Some of us were fortunate enough to be there for the experience, so we suggest you prepare yourself for a musical journey into Annas audioverse and take those shoes off! 

“It was such a big honour to open The Swamp Wednesday morning. A place I have so much love and respect for. To set the vibe and create a journey on this magical stage was beyond my dreams. Diving deep into raw softness & intensity, light & darkness, serious & playful rhythms. A diverse and psychedelic ride to get the dancefloor going. Seeing it grow was absolutely blissful, and the magic we created together in the realm of hypnosis!

DJ Matatu is a Berlin-based researcher on Afro-diasporic movements and cultures. In 2002, he established Black Atlantic Beatz, a soundsystem dedicated to the promotion and celebration of vinyl records from the Black Americas and Africa with a focus on soulful sounds from the 1960s and 1970s. His sets take dancers on a transnational and hemispheric journey, connecting Raw Soul & Deep Funk with Latin Soul-Boogaloo, Salsa Brava, Cumbia, Calypso, Samba, Afrobeat, and 21st century tropical bass sounds such as Baile Funk, Kwaito, Kuduro & Coupé Décalé. During the last two decades, DJ Matatu has hosted regular dance parties in clubs such as Acud, Pfefferberg, Dr. Pong, Mauersegler, and Cutie (Bielefeld) which featured guest DJs and live performances by artists from Berlin´s vibrant Black & Latino music scenes. He also supported international live acts such as Seu Jorge, Pax Nicholas & Ridimtaksi, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Kumar Sublevao-Beat, La Mákina del Karibe & Wagner Pá from the decks. Research on his forthcoming book on the significance of Soul music for the rise of Black Power in Afro-Latin America lead him to New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Panama from where he returned with overweight suitcases filled with records.

We warmly welcome you to another chapter of our hypnotic codecast X series.

Yujinn is a Seoul-based DJ and an electronic music enthusiast. Captivated by the exquisite and hypnotic sound of techno music, she has been exploring for years the soundscape of deep tunes from her home to overseas. 
Yujinn believes that her inclination to deep techno is based on her innate interest in aesthetics and communication. It is a pleasant inspiration for her to discover new auditory stimuli and share with others through her mix. From podcasts to club gigs, she seeks to embody her own underlying messages through delicate sounds, aspiring to convey intense sensations to the listeners. 

Ethereal atmospheres, cosmic landscapes and drifting grooves are to be expected from this exquisite mix.

I have celebrated Xmas as best as I could imagine, sharing the decks with Luca Scarpa and Franz Bush in a cozy brand new venue in Milan.

This two hours warm-up set explores different faces of my personal taste: from organic and liquid tracks to dub and hammering techno.

Since 2019, Leika has been playing her signature sound of Downtempo, Deep Tech and Deep House in some of the most popular venues in Europe, including Freiburg's Insel der Freuden Festival, Hans Bunte Areal, Ruefetto, The Great Räng Teng Teng, Beate Uwe in Berlin, Südpol in Hamburg, Kaschemme and Art Stage in Basel, and Chat:Eau Festival in France. As part of the MoMo/Raum|Zeit collective, she is involved in organizing parties and events. Additionally, as one half of the duo Lenkrad, she is already a fan favorite. Leika is also an admin at the SoundCloud Page House of FLINTA, where she works to promote equity and visibility for FLINTA artists. With her contagious energy and focus on the crowd's mood, it's no wonder Leika is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after DJs.
