Wishing I wouldn’t even have to
Didn’t want to face what was ahead
So tired of smiling and making pretend
It seemed like forever since I’d seen a happy day
Like forever ‘til I’d see one again
So I’d look down and lower my head
No one could see the dejection I felt

Until one day you came and you saw it all
You caught me just as I was about to fall
But you knew I’d be okay
You knew I would find my way

And you said:
“Chin up, move on, things will get better;
Don’t say a word, your path around this barrier’s
Already drawn, you’ve just to walk it…”
From that moment on, I knew it’d be over

To crossing the line between the black and the white

“It’s time to wake up, hello!” she said, 
“You’ve got to stand up, get yourself out of bed,
You’ll never know what’s coming your way
