Gravity is a heavy track that highlights the internal struggles of facing my own sexuality, and what that meant in regards to some very close relationships to me. 

Everyone has an ability to love only so much using their own energy. What I've come to realize, is that despite the weight of our capacity to love within comfort, love makes us push past our discomfort... And sometimes love is  learning how to let go.

Gravity - The Earthborn Project

Most of the tracks on this album came with several metamorphoses. This one was no exception.  The meaning of it has evolved several times and may continue to evolve.  I think that is because I often feel like Atlas. 

There is a sort of sensuality, a beauty in which Atlas is depicted with in art. It's usually pretty captivating, until you see that he's held captive, chained to the weight of the world. 

I had developed a sort of savior complex from my upbringing. I had to learn the hard way that hurt people, hurt people.  I could be apart of the cycle by allowing it to continue, or I could end the cycle.  It started with recognizing humanity, and lessening my expectations of people that refused to leave the hurt behind.

Atlas - The Earthborn Project

I was pretty angry when I wrote Beast. This song was when I decided it was okay to explore my shadow. It references  Lucifer, The anti-christ, Jesus, and Judas and draws parallels between methods of behavior of either myself or those around me. In this story, the only one who I wasn't, was Judas. I couldn't betray myself.  That means more than I could really try to explain in a few sentences. 

There is light and shadow in all mankind. Knowing and accepting your shadow is important to being in harmony with yourself and those around you.

Beast - The Earthborn Project

Ares is probably the most outward looking song on The Earthborn Project.  Certainly the most politically driven. But It goes beyond politics. I want my neighbor to care about my well being, just as much as I should care about his. Selfishness is the hallmark predecessor to decay.

I've found the cycle. I execute the ritual to end it. 
Spinning is the reminder that life is too short for us to not be happy. Be true to who you are, learn from mistakes and keep going.  Life moves on.

I went through two abusive relationships. I was still in the cycle. I wish I hadn't gone through everything, and that I had been able to see what was happening sooner. However, I don't regret who I am today because of those relationships.

I have some new scars, but I find them beautiful.

Nymph - The Earthborn Project

Styx is one of the rivers into the underworld. The waters are bitter. I was traversing the bitter waters of unforgiveness on the way to confront my ghosts.

When heart games have become too frequent, the idea of falling in love becomes daunting. At least it did for me. So I prayed, but ultimately it didn't work. I've been swallowed up by love and the adventure that comes with it. I'm no longer on the shore, I'm drowning it it.

Neptune -  The Earthborn Project

I can't say I'm where I want to  be in life yet, but I feel like I'm mastering what it is to evaluate myself. I can only control my actions. It's a hard lesson to learn, and I slip up here and there. I'm striving for enlightenment.

Athena - The Earthborn Project

Forté is an Ohio born musician based out of Austin, Texas. He has traveled the country with his cover bands, and currently is promoting his sophomore album, "The Earthborn Project." This album blends mythology, drawing parallels between legends and personal experience, with artist influences such as James Blake, Sevdaliza, Woodkid, and gospel for a unique and eclectic sound.
