2222 is the most complete project we've done under this alias. These 6 tracks all represent different sides of us; from very clean and synthetic to ruff and chaotic, from dreamy and intricate to loud and abrasive. The tracks come together to form one cohesive listening experience from front to back. The title, 2222, has many meanings. It stands for the duality in being a duo, it reflects all kinds of symmetries in the tracklist, and it's an angel number as well. The EP is also precisely 22 minutes and 22 seconds long! We're very grateful to have worked on this with the VISION team.

A year ago, we played this random bootleg on a @visionrecordings livestream. Ever since then, people kept begging us for the full release. We didn’t really think it would be possible, but when we started playing shows again after covid, we just knew we had to get it out somehow. Eventually, we got in touch with Sophie Straat and finally got it released!!

The lyrics are in Dutch, so sorry to our international audience. It’s a ska song about how we need more women in politics, a message that is sadly not any less urgent than it was when the original track got released…

When we started The Outsiders in 2016. Noisia’s “Outer Edges” just came out, and the album was a huge source of inspiration for us at the time. Tracks like Sinkhole really opened our eyes and showed us possibilities in production that we’d never thought of before. It was songs like these that inspired us for some of our first releases, so remixing this track feels like a big full circle moment.

We liked how the original track was a perfect fit for the ominous vocal sample and concept. We tried to do the same with this remix, but take it in a different direction. We took a lot of risks in the production, so it feels exciting to put this out!

We’re honoured for this opportunity and we’re truly thankful to have had the chance to get to know Noisia and their team over the past few years 💜

Meeting each other at the age of 12 & 13, Roeland and Jozef instantly felt a connection and started their musical journey together. Three years later, they signed their first track to @noisia’s label Division. 

Always looking for the next subgrenre, searching for the boundaries within their genre. The Outsiders are literally the act that will push your event to a next level, somewhere outside the regular Drum and Bass, and sometimes right within the genre itself. 

They push the limits during sets, but also while producing music. Always looking for that new way of arranging, composing is a vital part of this duo.
