Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Ashtøn Chase and Matt Yonge make up the duo/band that is Overnight Celebrity. After working and collaborating together for over 7 years as solo artists, they came together to collaborate once again in April of 2018, on a song that Ashtøn produced while experimenting and strengthening his producing chops, which later turned into their debut single “Tearing Away”. Instead of releasing it as his own song featuring Matt, he proposed the idea that they make a project out of it, a project as a duo, and from there...Overnight Celebrity came into existence. Fusing Alternative Pop with their Hip-Hop roots and foundation, the pair enjoy pulling you in with their melodic exchanges, harmonies, and effected vocals on cuts like Last Sunday, and Widow. To the duo, it’s not about planning and trying to stay in one lane, it’s about making music that expresses what they’re trying to say, what they truly enjoy creating, and remaining true to themselves through the different genres of music they love and grew up on.
