In the Bleak Midwinter is a traditional Christmas favorite performed by Rusty Gear in a classic country music setting.  Vocalist Hannah Bethel, who also performed on Wondering Why, released by Rusty Gear earlier in 2018, delivers a stirring performance, with Rusty singing background harmonies from historical church arrangements.  

The song was recorded at Southern Ground in Nashville, with Tony Sarno as producer and playing guitars, Clayton Ivey on keyboards, Bob Wray on bass, Pat Severs on pedal steel and Craig Krampf on percussion.

“Mountain Ranch (Rancher’s Blues)," from Rusty Gear, is a song that was adapted from the poem “Mountain Station,” written in 1895 by the famous Australian bush poet A.B. Banjo Paterson. The song is a humorous take on the challenges of ranching and includes the Rancher’s Blues to emphasize the point.  Rusty Gear is an American singer-songwriter whose earnest, deep-roots style is a mix of country, blues, and southern rock. "Mountain Ranch" is a follow up to his recent country music singles "Wondering Why" and “Call Me One for the Road”and his debut album "Happy Ending," released in June 2018.

"Mountain Ranch" was recorded in April 2018 at the legendary Southern Ground recording studio in Nashville, TN, and was produced by Tony Sarno. The song features Rusty on electric guitar and elite Nashville session musicians including Tony Sarno on Guitars, Clayton Ivey on Piano and Hammond Organ, Bob Wray on Bass, Craig Krampf on percussion and Pat Severs on Pedal.The song also features Jonas Weathers on Saxophones, Dino Pastin on Saxophones and Josh Harner on Trumpet
