Band leader Michael Cain calls The Parishioners'  sound, “Gothic Americana.” melding influences that range from Echo and the Bunnymen, Television, Wilco and R.E.M. to Graham Parsons and Tom Petty.  Their new CD, Between Piety and Desire, will be released December 12th, and was made possible in part, by a grant from the Threadheads Cultural Foundation.
